Did you know that stainless steel can rust or corrode? It’s true. Stainless steel is only corrosion resistant. When used in wet or marine environments, tools made from any grade of stainless steel will rust if not cleaned and re-oiled. Leatherman multi-tools are made from hard, corrosion resistant stainless steel so they’re strong and the knives maintain their sharp edge. You can buff out stains with a polishing cloth or non-metallic abrasive pad. I had one customer call in about his Leatherman Wave he’d stored on his boat and it was all rusty when he took it out. A little TLC and it was as good as new but he could have prevented the corrosion with a good coating of light machine oil or WD40. A little routine maintenance will keep your stainless steel tools ready to go for a long, long time.

Are you someone who uses hand tools? How about multi-tools? And, ever use a vice grip? Well, us do-it-your-selfers have multi-tools out there with, you guessed it, vice grips. The other day at work (I’m a mechanic on postal equipment) one of the other mechanics was showing me his Kershaw multi-tool that featured a needle nose vice grip. He really liked it and relied on it. Sometimes you really need pliers that clamp on and stay put, right? He didn’t know that Leatherman makes a really good vice grip multi tool, the “Crunch.” With the extra tools that come on a multi-tool, the compact-folding Crunch really is a versatile ally you might want to consider adding to your arsenal.

We’ve talked about ROI and how radios will pay for themselves in three months using the Return On Investment formula. But did you know this? Target Stores did a study on the effect that two way radios had in their stores concerning the bottom line. PROFIT! What they found was that an existing department that had 5 employees running around in it…let’s say Housewares…after injecting 2 way radios into the mix, they could reduce the staff by 20% and run that same Housewares department with 4 employees. 20% reduction in staffing costs by adding a radio that will pay for itself in three months anyway! It’s all gravy after that. For retail stores and restaurants Kenwood has come out with a remarkably powerful little radio called the TK-3230 XLS. Fifty percent more powerful than the earlier model TK-3130. Let’s get honest about the economy. It’s getting tight everywhere. Buy tools that produce results! Increase your bottom line with two way radio. In 2008, 2 way radios will make you money! http://www.radioserviceonline.com

Hello everyone, Thank you for viewing this new blog for our business website. We hope to not only tell our continuing story but to add legitimate content that will help you as an interested consumer with your questions and concerns about two way radio in general, not just Kenwood products.
Radio Service, Inc. is located in Muskegon, Michigan. Our office is within a mile of the BIG LAKE. We love it here in West Michigan and this is where we’ll stay. We’ve been in business since January 1, 1997. We’re half way into our 11th year and although the economy in Michigan is less than stellar, we’re able to maintain a presence both locally, as well as online. Our staff has a combined total of 27 years in the electronics industry. We’ve seen it all! From the old Motorola ” U-boat ” that were as heavy as a Buick, all through the generations of changes in circuit design, from vacuum tubes, through discrete components, (transistors), then on to Surface mounted leadless components, and now with the latest technology of Large Scale Integration where the entire radio can fit on one substrate. We think that one day, when they figure out how to eliminate the knobs and switches, we’ll all probably have a radio implanted in our heads. (GPS capable of course…for Big Brothers sake….)
Although Radio Service has been in existence for quite some time, our web presence has been minimal for the past 8 or 9 years. We only recently have exercised the potential muscle that is the World Wide Web. Why? Well, we’re not so sure…..Perhaps because with the slow economy we now have some time to invest in developing our web presence. Also, because we see an increase in the applications of two way radio and we want desperately to be a legitimate resource for qualified information concerning our industry. We see so many websites that offer two way radio, but they have no idea what they’re doing. We know you can buy your radios cheaper from sites that sell radios and blenders, along with cameras and gadgets of all sorts. We know you’re going to be left hangin’ when you have questions because those websites can’t (won’t) help you with specific questions that go beyond the sale of the equipment. So, we hope to be of some value to the two way radio community in the future. Be sure to log in to our Forum Page and join in on discussions concerning not only Kenwood products but all sorts of two way radio equipment.
Thank you for visiting. Stay tuned for more of our BLOG in the future.
