  2. How to Flush a Hot Water Tank and How to Avoid It Altogether
Why flush your hot water heater tank? Sediment may accumulate at the bottom as calcium carbonate is drawn from the water. Sediment may also enter the tank through the water line that supplies the tank with water. Whatever the reason, you will likely find yourself flushing the tank every year or so to get rid of it.
To flush it, shut off the electricity (or turn the gas to pilot if you have a gas-powered water heater) and then turn off the cold water supply. Attach a hose to the drain valve that can handle the hot water without breaking, and set it to a convenient draining location. If a drain is not in sight or you’re in a basement, aim the hose into a bucket and you’ll have to take the water out in buckets. Turn on the hot water of a faucet and open the drain valve. Once drained, turn on the water and shut the drain valve to refill the tank. Some folks drain it again when it’s half-filled to remove more sediment.
Does this sound like a hassle you’d like to avoid? Tankless hot water heating systems are growing in popularity for a number of reasons. For one, the sediment can interfere with the effectiveness and efficiency of your tank water heater, and the tank system has to work day and night to keep a large tank of water heated. This wastes some serious energy. A tank will also run out of hot water eventually, leaving you without hot water, or lukewarm water, once it’s gone.
Tankless systems heat water when it’s needed, and send it to wherever it’s needed. There is no storage of water that requires constant heating, saving you plenty of money in energy usage. All Pro Tankless will get you set up with an affordable tankless water heater system that is properly sized to meet the hot water demands of your home. All Pro Tankless will make sure you receive a state-of-the-art tankless water heating system so you can start saving money on your energy bills today. 3. The Pros and Cons of Tankless Water Heating
Having hot water whenever you need it is a luxury most can’t imagine living without. Most households turn to tank water heaters that keep a store of hot water readily available in a tank so whenever you need it, it’s waiting and ready to go. The downside here, though, is that to keep the water hot all day and night requires constant energy expenditure. To combat this problem, some are turning to tankless water heating, which heats water on-demand whenever you need it so energy is not wasted heating water stored in a tank.
The following is a list of pros and cons of going with a tankless water heatingsystem.
Pro: Tankless systems require less energy than tank systems, simply because water is only heated when it is needed as opposed to being heated all day and night by a tank system. Some estimate that tankless systems are 20 to 30% more efficient than tank water heaters.
Pro: No need to worry about running out of hot water if your tankless system is properly sized and planned. Tank systems can run out of hot water when showers are taken back-to-back or when showering and running appliances such as dishwashers or washers at the same time. A tank system provides as much hot water as required, as long as it is sized properly by a professional.
Pro: A tankless system takes up no floor space, and only minimal wall space. Water heating tanks can be bulky, and even the slimmer models require their own corner of a garage or basement, or even their own designated closet. A tankless system has a low profile and can be installed in a garage, basement, closet, or near the appliance to which it will provide hot water.
Con: A tankless water heating system may require a larger breakers and wiring compared to your traditional tank water heating system. Over time, though, the price difference can be made up for in big energy savings. What’s more, All Pro Tankless offers quality products at low, low prices to make your dream of tankless water heating a reality. They’ll help you choose a system that works best for you.
All Pro Tankless will offer custom sizing for your location. And, we offer FREE Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Go Green & Go Tankless Water Heating for all your hot water needs. 4. You can Make your own Dried Fruits and Vegetables for 70% - 90% less than Store Prices.

Unlike canning or freezing, food dehydration is a great alternative, as dried and bagged fruits or vegetables call for a lesser amount of space, require no electricity, and have an extensive shelf life. Dehydration of Food is one of the oldest methods of preserving food for later use. It can either be a substitute to canning and freezing or a compliment to these methods.

First you must select your food to dehydrate. When they are in season, vegetables and fruits are at their cheapest. Wash and slice all fruits or vegetables you are going to dry. The most difficult pieces to dry are the thick pieces, plus, it is hard to make sure they are dry in the middle so slice thin and evenly. This can cause problems with storage.

Add together any seasonings, such as spices, sugar or salt to give flavor to your veggies and fruits. Load up your fruit and vegetable slices onto the dehydrator trays leaving a little breathing space between them. Most fruits and vegetables will take about 8 to 10 hours to dry.

Towards the end of the drying cycle, check your fruits or vegetables for dryness. Simply remove a piece from the dehydrator, allow it to cool and then feel it with your fingers. If it is dry to the touch, it should be adequately dried. You can also cut several fruit slices in half, and check for moisture.

Lastly is packing your dried foods. Place all dried foods in air-tight containers or freezer bags. Store in a cool place until you are ready to use them.

Come visit http://www.FoodSealerShop.com where our website offers some of the best high quality Food Dehydrators on the internet for your everyday packaging of nutrious foods on a fixed budget. 5. Will a Tankless Water Heater Reduce Your Energy Usage?
Behind air conditioning, water heating is the highest consumer of energy in a typical household. Of course, this often depends on the energy and hot water habits of those residing in the home. Tank water heaters store water all day and night, keeping it hot so that when you need hot water, it’s there. This constant heating of the water in the tank can get pricey as the month goes by.
A tankless water heater works by heating water only as you need it. There is no large tank taking up space in the garage, and it doesn’t have to continuously work to keep water warm throughout the day and night. When needed, water enters the system, is heated by the heating element, and exits the system, traveling through the pipes to wherever it is needed.
Because they do not work all day and night to keep the water warm, tankless water heaters can slash your energy usage significantly. Those who enjoy taking long showers or households with several occupants will not have to worry about running out of hot water because the water is heated instantly for as long as you require it. Some estimates put the energy savings at around 30% over a tank water heater, although this often depends on your hot water usage habits.
So where do you find a tankless water heating system at low cost? All Pro Tankless is a customer-oriented company that works to bring you the lowest prices on quality systems. You’ll find a good selection of products and friendly people to help you figure out which is best for your home. 6. Reasons to ‘Go Tankless’ for Your Water Heating Needs
We’re all familiar with the tank water heaters that work day and night so that when we need hot water somewhere in the house, we’re provided with it. Tankless water heating is growing in popularity, though, as even those instinctively wary or such new technologies are jumping on board. These systems are great for reducing energy costs because instead of storing water in a large tank and spending energy to keep it warm, a tankless system heats water as it is needed.
So why would you ditch the old tank water heating system for a tankless model? Well, the most obvious reason is the savings you’ll see every month on your energy bill. A tankless system may be about 20 to 30% more efficient in its energy usage than a tank system because it doesn’t waste energy heating water when hot water is not needed. You turn your air conditioner up when you leave for the day so you’re not paying to cool an empty house; why would you pay to heat water all day long when nobody’s even home to use it?
When the hot water from a tank water heater is stretched thin, installing a tankless system designated for a certain area of the house or for specific appliances or showers can ensure that everybody gets hot water when they need it. No more waiting for the washer or dishwasher to finish to take a shower, or fighting over somebody using all the hot water in the shower.
Finally, a tankless system takes up much less space than a water heating tank that’s often stuffed in the corner of a garage or basement, or in its own designated closet. A tankless system is wall-mounted so it doesn’t take up floor space, and it has a lower profile than tank systems. If space is an issue, a tankless system could be your answer.
All Pro Tankless will help you decide if a tankless system is right for you and your home. They’ll guide you through the process of selecting a system and then provide you with the lowest prices and expert installation. All Pro Tankless will make sure you receive a state-of-the-art tankless water heating system so you can start saving money on your energy bills today. You’ll find affordable prices and the professionals at All Pro Tankless will help you pick out a system that fits your needs. We offer custom sizing for your location. 7. Save Money with More Efficient Appliances
A time comes when we need to replace an appliance or two around the house. Maybe something breaks down, maybe it isn’t working like it once did, or perhaps we just deem it time to upgrade to something new and better. Advances in technology have made appliances more efficient so they produce better and even save us money by reducing energy consumption.

Tank hot water heaters, for instance, waste a tremendous amount of energy every month just keeping the water in the tank hot so that when you need it it’s ready to go. If you need a new hot water heater, consider a tankless model that can be 30% more efficient than your tank water heater. If you could reduce your monthly energy bill by 30%, would you?
A tankless system works by heating water only as it is needed. Water enters the system, is heated by passing through the heating element, and is sent out through the pipes to its destination. Water is not stored and you don’t waste money and energy keeping it hot all day and night.
Air conditioners, washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and even showers now come in more efficient models designed to reduce energy and/or water consumption while maintaining or improving performance. When shopping for a new appliance, ask about energy efficiency and choose a model that’s going to save you money in the short- and long-term.
All Pro Tankless will make sure you receive a state-of-the-art tankless water heating system so you can start saving money on your energy bills today. 8. Going Green with a Tankless Water Heater

As more and more people hope to reduce their carbon footprint while also saving money in the process, demand for appliances such as tankless water heaters will continue to rise. You don’t have to wear hemp clothes to be more environmentally friendly. A tankless water heater reduces your household energy consumption by heating water only when it is needed instead of continuously throughout the day.

Tank water heaters store water and work to keep it heated all day and night so that you have hot water when you need it. A tankless water heater, on the other hand, heats water as it enters the unit and sends it right out to wherever it is needed. It doesn’t store water and waste energy keeping the water hot all day and night.

Tankless water heater systems can be 30% more energy efficient than tank water heaters, and can reduce your energy bills by as much. That’s some serious money-saving power, especially when you figure it over the course of a year. And it’s a great way to reduce your home’s carbon footprint without sacrificing hot water.

Other great ways to save energy around the house include upgrading your air conditioner to a more efficient model, setting your thermostat a few degrees higher and using fans while you’re in the room, and opening the windows for a little fresh air once in a while (just remember to turn off the A/C).

All Pro Tankless can help you size a new tankless water heater for your home and to meet the needs of those in your house. They offer the latest models at low, low prices to make your new green initiative more affordable. The folks at All Pro Tankless will help you find a tankless system that fits your needs at a low, affordable price. All Pro Tankless will go over your energy use and needs to help you figure it out. 9. Importance of a Properly-Sized Tankless Water Heater
Tankless water heaters do not require as much energy as tank water heaters, which must continuously maintain a certain water temperature inside of the tank. The tankless system gives you hot water only when you need it, thus using energy only when it is necessary to do so. But if you dive head first into tankless water heating without consultation with an expert, you might not get the most out of your new system.
Just as a tank water heater must be properly sized to meet hot water demands in the household, a tankless system must account for the needs of the home and its inhabitants. For instance, if you have a big family that uses hot water at the same time (using two showers at once, for instance), you’re going to need a bigger tankless system, or may even need a dual-tankless water heating system. Some homes are better off when a tankless system is installed for the bathroom and one is installed for the kitchen and washing machine.
As a consumer of hot water, the tankless water heating system that works best for you is going to depend on your habits and hot water needs. A professional consultation is the best way to figure out which tankless system is right for you. Otherwise, a tankless system that is stretched too thin may fail to provide the hot water and/or water pressure required by certain appliances or for an enjoyable shower.
The professionals at All Pro Tankless will help you size a tankless system that is right for you so all appliances and showers are provided with adequate water pressure and temperature. Tankless water heaters are excellent options for those who want to save money on their energy bills, are tired of running out of hot water, or want to save space in their garage or basement where the bulky tank heaters would normally sit. The folks at All Pro Tankless will help you find a tankless system that fits your needs at a low, affordable price. All Pro Tankless will go over your energy use and needs to help you figure it out. We offer custom sizing for your location. And, we offer FREE Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Go Green & Go Tankless Water Heating for all your hot water needs. 10. Did You Know that There is an Art to Cooking Fine Fluffy Healthy Rice?

Making rice perfectly, so it is just the right texture, not sticky but fluffy and not overcooked, is an art that still baffles many cooks. The advent of cooking rice with steamers or cookers has solved that daunting task for many, allowing them to pursue many quality rice dishes that they previously avoided.

Most Rice Cookers or steamers purchased for the home are economical electric appliances that can stand alone on a countertop and therefore frees up the stove surface for other dishes. Rice cookers can be multi-layered steamers that are suitable for cooking other vegetables and foods at the same time, or small individual steamers for just one cup of perfect rice, or a large size that will supply up to twenty cups of quality rice.

There are many types of rice grains: short, medium, long, brown, wild and jasmine just to name a few. Each modern Rice Cooker today is geared for cooking many of these types automatically. Many other grains can be prepared in a Rice Cooker or steamer such as couscous, quinoa and oatmeal.

  12. Broken Down Water Heater? Upgrade to a Tankless System
There’s nothing worse than a broken down appliance, especially when you rely on that appliance to supply you with Hot Water that you use to shower, wash dishes, or wash your clothes. We’ve all been there. You’re taking a shower and realize it isn’t getting warm. You check the hot water heater only to find it isn’t working. And it always seems to happen when we’re expecting company or nearing a holiday.
So now that you have to replace it, should you consider a new tankless hot water heating system or get the same tank water heater that you’ve had for years?
A tank water heater uses energy throughout the day and night to maintain a constant water temperature inside of the tank. This can get costly every month, especially compared to tankless Water Heating Systems that only use energy to heat water when the water is needed. If you need hot water, turn it on and the water heater will start working. Turn it off, and it stops working. It’s that simple.
Tankless water heaters are excellent options for those who want to save money on their energy bills, are tired of running out of hot water, or want to save space in their garage or basement where the bulky tank heaters would normally sit. The professionals at All Pro Tankless will help you find a tankless system that fits your needs at a low, affordable price. 13. Bed Bugs and Dust Mites: One Bites, The Other Doesn’t, Both Are No Good!

Bed Bugs and dust mites are often thought of as the same type of ‘bug’ or ‘mite’. Both are very different animals, but both have been proven to cause allergy symptoms. And the smaller of the two, dust mites, have actually been found to be the cause of as much as 60% of all allergy and asthma cases worldwide.

A bed bugs is literally a ‘bug’, being more from the family of arthropods or insects. Bed bugs definitely do bite by piercing the skin and feeding on human blood. And they are much larger than dust mites, with the adult bed bug growing to 3-5 mm in length. Bed bugs are fairly easy to see, but often require pesticides to get rid of them. Symptoms of bed bugs include red blotchy, itchy skin, and some psychological effects such as a feeling of something crawling on the skin when nothing is there. Bed bugs and their eggs, like dust mites, are often tracked indoors by humans and pets.

Dust mites, on the other hand, are more related to spiders, having 8 legs, do not really bite, but cause far more allergies and asthma than even the pollen count. Dust mites are much smaller than bed bugs, with adults growing to only 0.25 mm in length, which is barely visible. Dust mites feed on pretty much any kind of organic matter, such as dead skin flakes, food particles, other animal parts such as decaying bed bugs, etc. A house dust mite’s mouth or mandibles are designed for chewing, not piercing, so the notion that dust mites bite is not true.

Skin irritation and itching is caused by the powerful digestive enzymes and body parts of dead dust mites, as both are two of the strongest known allergens in the world. Dust mites are most often found wherever there is dust—carpets, furniture, your bed, mattress covers, dust bunnies, etc. If you see dust, you can bet there are about 200 dust mites per gram of dust. Many beds have been found to contain up to 2500 dust mites per gram of dust! Symptoms of dust mite infestation include wheezing, coughing, skin irritation, watery, red eyes, repeated sneezing, to more frequent asthma attacks with no ‘apparent’ cause.

Treatment for dust mites mostly involves getting rid of them through regular / vigorous vacuuming, using polyethylene mattress covers, and installing one or more HEPA air purifiers. HEPA air purifiers are much more effective than simple ionic air purifiers because they will trap 99.97% or higher of these offending dust mite particles / animals, whereas ionic air purifiers simply attract particles to an electrode with decreasing performance. As the electrode becomes dirty, the fan simply re-releases particles back into the air. HEPA filters prevent the re-release of allergens.

Air purifiers may even be a legitimate medical expense and covered by insurance, if your doctor prescribes them. A couple of air purifiers that we have found highly effective for dust / dust mite control are the Blueair 403 and the Healthmate Plus Air Cleaner from Austin Air. Both have excellent warranties, solid steel construction, and money-back guarantees.

  14. Clean Air Means Less Cleaning and Dusting? Yep, Sure Does!

Does it seem like you’re cleaning all the time? And every time you turn around, there’s another layer of dust on that piece of furniture?

Let’s face it. Very few of us have time to constantly clean and dust. We’re just too busy! And where does this dust and dirt come from anyway? Well, it’s a combination of stuff we track in from outside, the dust from your ducts / air conditioner vents, and tiny particles that are released when our hands and feet rub across furniture, bedding, carpets, etc. The air that’s moving inside the room picks up the particles and those particles settle on everything, and there you go—more dusting and cleaning to do. Ugh.

You mean having clean air can really help us keep up with our fast-paced lives, and reduce cleaning time and costs? Absolutely. It just makes sense. If you can remove the particles from the air, then there will be less to settle and accumulate—in the corners, and in our noses! And you’ll get the added benefit of feeling better, with less sneezing and coughing, or even asthma attacks.

So how do we do clean up the air? All you need is a 1) a good allergy rated filter in your home a/c system, 1500 rating or higher, and 2) get a quality air purifier that can handle the amount of air in your home or room, and has a true HEPA filter, which will remove 99.97% or higher of the particles floating around.

One very good air purifier that is powerful and a good value is the Blueair 403 This unit features durable steel construction, a powerful HEPA filter that removes up to 99.99% of particles, healthy negative ions to further purify the air, and an available lifetime warranty. This will handle rooms 375 square feet and smaller.

For larger spaces, up to 1500 square feet, the Aller Air 5000 Exec works very well. This air purifier features a true HEPA filter, a pre-filter, and a full 18 pounds of activated carbon to remove chemical vapors and odors—vapors and odors that cause allergy attacks, headaches, and more! Got headaches that you can’t put your finger on? It could be in the air!

Both of these units will definitely reduce the need for cleaning and dusting, and leave you more time for the important things like family and fun times! As always, if you have any questions, give us a call at 1-800-701-2513. The expert staff at Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is standing by to help.

  15. Why Choose a Tankless Water Heater?
You’re a responsible homeowner who wants the best for your house, and the best for your buck. You do your research, you make sure everything is professionally installed, and you keep up with maintenance around the house. So when it comes to water heating, should you choose a tankless system over the more conventional tank heaters?
Tankless water heaters are used around the world, especially in areas where consumers are concerned with high prices for energy. A tankless hot water heater uses energy more efficiently than conventional Tank Water Heaters because, unlike tank heaters, a tankless system heats water only when hot water is needed. It doesn’t waste energy working to keep a big tank of water heated all day and night.
A tankless system is a great option when space is a concern. A tank water heater takes up space in the garage, basement or even has its own dedicated closet. Tankless systems are installed on a wall, meaning floor space is not occupied. 16.
No more waiting for the washer or dishwasher to finish a shower or fighting over somebody using all the hot water in the shower.
Finally, a tankless system takes up much less space than a water heating tank that’s often stuffed in the corner of a garage or basement, or in its own designated closet. A tankless system is wall-mounted so it doesn’t take up floor space and it has a lower profile than tank systems. If space is an issue, a tankless system could be your answer.
All Pro Tankless will help you decide if a tankless system is right for you and your home. They’ll guide you through the process of selecting a system and then provide you with the lowest prices and expert installation or help you select an installer in your area. We offer custom sizing for your location. And, we offer FREE Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Go Green & Go Tankless Water Heating for all your hot water needs. 19.
20. Here are 2 Simple Steps to Choosing a Food Dehydrator for Making Healthy Nutritional Snacks for Your Family

Since dried foods cost so much at the store, trying to find good healthy food to eat is getting to be quite a chore. Alas, you can make your own with a Food Dehydrator. You need to make good decisions when shopping for a food dehydrator. What to look for in a Food Dehydrator is pretty simple; you need something that provides ease of access and usability, good heat and flow, along with how good the machine has been made. All of these things will give you the best Food Dehydrator and the best result with your dried fruits, vegetables and meats. So why pay more when you can make better food on your own?

    Heat is the Key

First off you want to make sure there’s just enough heat to dry the food, however, not so much that it bakes it. There’s a fine line between drying something and cooking it, so you’ll want to make sure that it works; you also want to make sure that half your food doesn’t get dried out while the other half just turns into mush. There are two main types of Food Dehydrators to choose from: (1) shelf tray, (2) stackable. The stackable dehydrators are probably the best since the heat rises and gives all the food an even heating. Air flow is also important, because if you don’t have enough air flowing through the machine, you’ll have an overheated food dehydrator that you’ll end up having to replace as it cooks itself.

Come visit http://www.FoodSealerShop.com where our website offers some of the best high quality Food Dehydrators on the internet for your everyday packaging of nutrious foods on a fixed budget. Our products are always at cheap discount prices because we are an authorized online reseller of numerous major brand name manufacturers, thus cutting out the middle-man and passing the savings on to you. 21. Learn a Simple Way to Maintain Nutrients, Vitamins and Minerals In Your Everyday Cooking With A Food Steamer

Food retains more of its nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are necessary for your body when cooking with a Food Steamer over any other cooking appliance currently on the market. For example, by boiling foods, vitamin C is reduced by up to 70% from food vs. cooking with steam that only reduces the amount of vitamins by 40%. Not to mention that you don’t have to add any oils or fats, so your dishes won’t be greasy anymore and thus will contain fewer calories. Meat dishes won’t need added fats for cooking and will not become dry due to the constant injections of steam while cooking. If you’re concerned about weight loss or have a dietary regime due to health issues, then all foods prepared by steam cooking are so much healthier for you.

When steaming chicken, meat, fish, corn, rice, eggs or vegetables, cooking with a Food Steamer is the healthiest way to cook. The better retention of nutrients, especially for vegetables is possible because food does not come into contact with either heat, oils or water source. The steam resulting from heating up the fluid rises and enters inside the machine, injecting and gently cooking your dishes.

When you visit http://www.RiceCookersMarket.com you can be assured of receiving FAST shipping direct to your door as well as 100% SAFE secure checkout. Our website offers some of the best high quality Food Steamers on the internet. Our products are always at cheap discount prices because we are an authorized online reseller of numerous major brand name manufacturers, thus cutting out the middle-man and passing the savings on to you.

  22. Save Water Around the House
Reducing your monthly water consumption is easy, and it doesn’t have to take much effort on your part. Adjusting behavior and habits can go a long way as you look to cut your water usage, while installing more efficient appliances and household items can be very helpful as well.
Start by shutting off the water when you brush your teeth. It may not seem like much, but the water we waste when leaving the water running as we brush adds up every month. Most like to wet their toothbrush before they start, but after that there’s no reason to turn on the water until you’re done and need to rinse your mouth, brush, and the sink.
Use your dishwasher instead of hand washing dirty dishes. Your dishwasher doesn’t use as much water as you might think. Even if it runs for an hour and you’re convinced you can hand wash all the dishes in 15 or 20 minutes, you’ll probably end up using more water if you opt for the latter.
Install a rain collection system. You don’t have to drink or use this water to shower, cook, or in other household chores. Collected rain water may be used to water flowers or other plants. If you have a garden, make sure the appropriate steps are taken to filter the water before watering edible fruits and vegetables.
A more efficient shower head is another simple home improvement project that takes minutes to complete but can save you on your water bill. These shower heads use less water without sacrificing much in terms of water pressure.
Finally, there are Tankless Water Heaters, which are actually more of an energy saver than a water saver. These work by heating water only when it is needed rather than storing a tank full of water all day and night, working to maintain a certain temperature.
All Pro Tankless is a full service tankless water heating company with plenty of product options and expert installation. You’ll also find more efficient shower heads to reduce your water consumption when showering. Why use us? We offer Custom Sizing at http://www.titantanklessheater.com by using the math behind the physics of heating hot water instantaneously to help determine the right size tankless for your location and hot water needs.

  23. How Much Can a Tankless Water Heater Save You?
These days everybody is looking for ways to cut down on their energy usage. Not only can it save you money on your energy bills, it can be a good way to reduce your carbon footprint. From making minor lifestyle adjustments such as turning off fans and lights when leaving a room, to opting for more efficient appliances, energy savings starts at home.
Many do not realize that 25 to 30% of their energy usage is devoted to water heating. Tank water heaters must continuously monitor water temperature and operate to maintain a certain temperature so that when it comes time to deliver hot water to a shower or appliance, it’s ready. This continuous heating day and night can get pricey.
Tankless water heaters, on the other hand, operate only when hot water is needed. They do not waste energy day and night maintaining a certain temperature in a large tank of water. Water enters the system, is heated, and exits through the pipes to whichever shower or appliance is in need of hot water.
A tankless water heating system can be 24% to 34% more efficient than a tank water heater for households that use 41 gallons of hot water or less per day, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). Efficiency may be lower for households using more hot water, but the DOE notes that installing a tankless water heater at each appliance (bathroom, washer, dishwasher, etc.) may cut water heating bills up to half.
Their specialty is to custom size a tankless water heater to your hot water needs and incoming water temperature at your location. So depending on your hot water usage, you’re looking at some serious savings on your annual water heating bill. All Pro Tankless at http://www.titantanklessheater.com/ has a good selection of energy efficient tankless water heating systems of various sizes so you’re sure to find a system that works for you. This takes the ‘work’ out of trying to pick the right heater for your location. The pros on staff are knowledgeable, committed, and ready to answer any questions you have about this technology.

  24. Air Monitors—Amazingly Useful, and Now They’re Affordable!

Hmmm….air monitor…what is that? An air monitor or air quality monitor refers to a laser particle counter used to assess the number or concentration of airborne particles in a given area or coming out of a vent, etc. Essentially, every time an airborne particle (dust, pollen, etc) intersects one of thousands of tiny laser beams, the air monitor adds “1″ to the particle count.

In the past, these units have been well over the $3000 mark and a little tough for the average person to use. Well, not anymore! These amazing devices are now very affordable and they can give us a LOT of information about what IS or IS NOT in the air we breathe, keep us from spending money unnecessarily, and several other very interesting uses!

So what good is an air monitor, really? Well, first, they can tell you very clearly how many particles of a given size are floating around your home or office—which can let you know if you actually need an air purifier, or not 2) whether your air conditioner filter is working or not, 3) whether your duct work needs cleaning or not—usually $700 or more, 4) whether or not your allergies will act up when you go outside (as you can set it outside to see what the particle count is like BEFORE you go out!

Some people with allergies even take their air monitors with them when they go to a new place, travel, etc., and it gives them a good idea whether they need to take preventive medication or not.

Auto / furniture refinishers use air monitors to make sure the air is free of dust before they paint, which keeps them from having to re-paint after dust has settled on the finish before it had a chance to dry. Now, there’s no guessing—you know when the air is clear!

Air monitors can even tell you whether your air purifier is doing its job or not. Or whether that salesman is telling you the truth, or not! Just put the air monitor right at the exhaust or outflow area of the air purifier and test in another room and compare the numbers. Sorry Mr. Salesman, but numbers don’t lie! They’re even great for contractors to use when they inspect to see if a new air conditioning system / duct work has a leak or not.

And the really good news…is that most quality air monitors, from Dylos Corporation for example, are under $350, with many under $250. And there are PC interface models for professional use, as well—which allows the user to see / use graphs of the air tests, etc.

There are so many uses for air monitors that improve our quality of life and make our jobs easier. If you have any questions, please give us a call toll-free at 1-800-701-2513. Our expert staff will be happy to help.

  25. Blueair Air Purifiers—Are They Really a Cut Above?

There’s a lot of talk about Blueair air purifiers as being ‘a cut above the rest’. Are they really the best air purifier value? A lot of people with respiratory issues and allergies think so. We’ve done some reseach, too. Let’s take a look at the details.

A Better HEPA Filter? In a lot of ways, yes. Blueair’s HEPA or particle filters are composed of non-allergenic polyethylene fibers arranged in a progressively smaller and smaller pore size as the air passes through it. The result? Blueair particle filters can trap 99.97% or higher of particles size 0.1 microns and larger. Most HEPA filters only claim to trap particles 0.3 microns and up. Why is this important? Many particles around the 0.1 micron range are harmful viruses and bacteria that might slip through an ordinary HEPA filter!

Can It Reduce / Eliminate Smoke, Odors and Chemicals? Yes. The patented Gas & Odor Smokestop filter is a also a progressive filter that includes a good layer of activated granular carbon that is excellent for removing odors, smoke, and chemicals that often pollute indoor air. These chemical residues come from from cleaning products, solvents, paints, etc, and are often responsible for mystery headaches, sinus issues, etc. And granular carbon is far superior for absorbing pollutants. Most lower-grade air purifiers use crushed carbon, which is not as effective.

Better Construction, with No Off-Gassing? Yep, that, too! Blueair air purifiers feature a steel housing that is powder-coated (which means it is a sealed surface), so there is no off-gassing or release of vapors from the materials used. They feature Swedish construction known for quality and durability. They are simply manufactured at a higher level of quality, and they LAST.

No Ozone, but Healthy Negative Ions? Yes, again! Blueair air purifiers produce no ozone; in fact, they actually reduce the amount of natural ozone present in the home or office (usually from outside air coming in, etc. AND, they use healthy negative ions (OH- ions) as an added step to protect against airborne bacteria, viruses, and to cause particles to actually fall out of the air due to a changed ‘charge’. Essentially, an OH- ion encounters a bacterium or virus, it strips a Hydrogen ion from that ‘particle’ which destroys the bacteria/virus, and produces a water molecule as result. Pretty smart, huh? Yes, it is!

A Better Warranty? Well, once again—yes! Blueair air purifiers feature a 5 year warranty on parts and labor, and an optional LIFETIME warranty available simply by signing up for their auto-ship filter program, which sends you new filters right when you need them—so you don’t have to worry about when to change them, etc..

We’ve seen and tested a ton of air purifiers, and unless you have MCS or something like that which would require a heavy carbon filter (such as Aller Air), you cannot get a better air purifier for the money. Period. If you have any questions on which air purifier is right for your situation, please give us a call toll-free at 1-800-701-2513. Our expert staff will be happy to help.

  26. Food Steamers and Their Benefits

There are so many reasons for steaming your veggies today. We are able to steam our vegetables and receive the much needed nutrients in a fat free method of cooking, that normally we don’t receive in our food decisions today. Many of our meals these days are infested with saturated fat and will increase our risk of high cholesterol, high triglycerides, cardiovascular disease, diabetic issues, cancer and this is just to name a few.

Food Steamers offer a healthy cooking technique that permits fruits, vegetables as well as meats to preserve their natural nutritional value and minerals without being saturated or diminished by cooking oils, sauces and butter. Food Steamers can be found in different forms, allowing for the preparation of various ingredients at the same time. Electric, bamboo and microwavable steamers effectively create lean and nourishing foods using similar techniques of cooking food with steam from boiling water.

  28. Vacuum Food Sealers and Their Benefits

The average person throws away 25% of purchased food monthly, from not preparing leftovers and/or fresh foods properly. By storing leftovers in bags sealed with Vacuum Food Sealers reduces food waste to zero. Frozen foods packaged in sealer bags that are devoid of oxygen will avoid freezer burn and loss of taste and nutrition.

Vacuum food sealers are devices that every modern homemaker should have in their kitchen. They are available in either battery-operated hand held models or nice looking units that sit on the countertop. In short, they remove air (oxygen) from plastic vacuum bags of food and seal them shut. Easy to use, one just divides food into the bags that come with the unit, inserts the neck of the bag into the sealer and pushes a button. The air is removed by vacuum and when the proper pressure is obtained, the heat sealer is activated.

The concept of vacuum sealing for food has been used in commercial packaging for years and now is available for all conscientious homemakers.

  29. Save Money and Energy with a Tankless…Get it right the first time
One of the few known secrets in saving money on a fixed utility is tankless water heating technology. Known through the rest of the world for decades, tankless heaters popularity is gaining in the USA. However, one of the drawbacks cited by some consumers regarding tankless water heaters is an easy one to remedy: they are unfamiliar with the technology and are unsure how to approach it. Fortunately, with a little know-how and some professional assistance, sizing your tankless water heater is no problem. Our article will take you through sizing the system you need in kilowatts (kW).
‘Temperature Rise’, also called ‘Heat Rise’, refers to the amount you must raise the temperature of the incoming water. Simply subtract the temperature of the cold water entering the system from the desired temperature. For example, if the temperature of the water when it enters the system is 70-degrees Fahrenheit (F) and you need 110-degree F water, simply subtract 70 from 110 and you’ll see that you need a 40-degree F temperature rise.
‘Gallons per Minute’ (GPM) is another important term, and this measures the volume of water that the tankless system must heat (tankless systems are capable of heating a lower flow rate to a higher temperature). Finally, you must know that it takes 147 watts to raise a gallon of water one-degree F.
To size your tankless system, multiply the Heat Rise by GPM by 147 and then divide the result by 1,000. The result is the size of the tankless system needed in kilowatts (kW). Here’s that equation laid out a little clearer:
    Heat Rise x GPM x 147 I 1,000 = Tankless System Size in kW
Example: You need a Winter time temperature rise of 40-degrees F and require 2 GPM for a shower head or standard bathtub. Your equation would look like this:
40 x 2 x 147 I 1,000 = 11.8 kilowatts You’d need an 11.8 kW system in this case. When installing a tankless system for the whole home, you must add up the GPM for the application that requires the most hot water. This is usually a tub faucet. For most home owners this flow rate is 2 to 3 GPM. So, if you are unsure of the flow rate then do simple a simple flow rate test then call us through our contact information at http://www.titantanlessheater.com
Use a two quart pitcher, turn on the hot water and measure with a second hand how long it takes to fill up that two quart pitcher in seconds. If you fill that two quart pitcher in 10 seconds then one gallon would be twice the time or 20 seconds. Divide that 1 minute or 60 seconds by 20 seconds, the answer is 3 GPM. Or, call us and we can help you find out the flow rate.
The pros at All Pro Tankless are always on hand to assist you in sizing a tankless system for your home. They’ll help you figure out the gallons per minute, incoming water temperature (this changes with the season), and the heat rise based on your needs. This takes a lot of the risk out of going with a tankless water heater and finding that you chose the wrong size. This is a custom service that we offer as a guide to show how tankless water heaters work. Other factors may work on your incoming water temperature and resulting heat rise as well as factors affecting the physical flow rate in any calculation.

  30. Tankless Water Heaters: Take ‘Green’ Showers!

You don’t have to wear hemp shirts and bike 30 miles to work to go green. There are plenty of money-saving measures that also lessen your impact on the environment. Replacing a tank hot water heater with a tankless water heater is a great way to drastically cut your energy bill every month. A tankless system can be roughly 20% more efficient than a tank heating system, which means huge savings.

Tank heaters consume electricity even while you’re not using them. They work continuously to keep the stored water hot so that when you do need hot water, you have it. What’s more, as you shower, run the dishwasher, or wash clothes in the washing machine, the hot water will leave the tank and is replaced by cold water, which reduces the overall temperature of the water in the tank.
A tankless water heater provides hot water on-demand whenever you require it. No more cold showers for the last person in every morning. Cold water is introduced to the heater and passes through the heating element. The hot water is then immediately sent through the pipes to the shower or an appliance. It doesn’t waste energy keeping the water in the tank warm all day when you’re not even using it.

All Pro Tankless offers the highest quality tankless water heaters at low prices, making your switch from a tank water heater to a more efficient tankless system hassle-free and affordable. We’ll help you pick out a system that best fits your needs and those of your home so you can start cutting your energy bills today! Browse and research our store by visiting: http://www.titantanklessheater.com for information on sizing a tankless water heater for your location and hot water needs. Remember, you must have the right size heater for your home or your wife will yell and your kids will cry. We offer custom sizing for your location and hot water needs. Remember, most sellers only offer “Whole House” tankless waters without offering advice on the actual size needed. And, we offer FREE Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states.

  31. How Does a Rice Cooker Know When It’s Food is Done

A basic Rice Cooker consists of a nonstick metal bowl set inside a plastic and/or metal housing, with a heat source on the bottom. To cook plain rice: just add rice, measure the water, press start, and walk away. The machine brings the mixture to a boil, reduces the heat for a prolonged simmer time, then switches to a very low setting to keep the cooked rice at serving temperature.

How does the machine know when the rice is done? Well, a built-in thermostat tracks the temperature of the bubbling mixture of rice and water. When the water boils and turns to steam, the temperature in the pot begins to rise, which tells the cooker to switch to the warm setting.

There are many recipes for Rice Cooker dishes on the Internet and in books like “Rice Cooker Meals” (Neal Bertrand, Cypress Cove Publishing), but some of them are really recipes for steaming, or involve other pots and appliances. The most delicious and nutritious recipes are those that have been developed, out of necessity or curiosity, entirely for the Rice Cooker.

  32. Do You Know the Differences Between the Various Vacuum Food Sealers?

When looking for a Vacuum Food Sealer there are a couple of different categories: countertop models and handheld sealers. Handheld Food Sealers generally use batteries, therefore the suction and sealing strength normally isn’t the best, and they have to be used with specially designed bags. Generally, a handheld vacuum sealer is cheap and will serve the purpose if you intend to store the food for a month or less. Some specialized tests point out foods sealed with handheld sealers are at risk of freezer burn after a month, so longer-term storage is more realistic when using the heavier-duty or commercial-grade countertop models.

A good quality Vacuum Food Sealer can help prevent waste by extending the lifetime of perishables like veggies, produce, meat, nuts and cheeses. They aim to remove air from the packaging plus they prevent ice crystals from forming on frozen food. Ice-crystal formation can cause food to dry out, discolor and lose flavor. Food sealers permit consumers to purchase food in bulk, then divide and seal it themselves, potentially saving money.

Both categories of vacuum food sealers operate by sucking the air out of a plastic bag, which is usually a proprietary type, and making a seal to prevent moisture and air from creeping back in. As well as storing foods, some consumers use their vacuum sealers to safeguard documents or store items to prevent them from getting wet during outdoor adventures.

  33. Air Purifier Filters: Choose the Right Air Purifier By Its Filter!

There are so many air purifiers out there, with various kinds of filters, with all sorts of claims as to their effectiveness. If you think about why you are considering an air purifier—to clean the air in your home or office—you will shortly see that the type and construction of the filter matters GREATLY. And once you evaluate the filter, you can often make a better air purifier choice.

Start With a True HEPA Filter: Don’t buy “HEPA-type” air purifiers or filters. These are sub-standard filters / purifiers that typically only trap between 50 and 75% of airborne pollutants. Yes, the filters and purifiers like this are often ‘cheaper’ but they will not do the job of a true HEPA filter that is designed to remove 99.97% of illness / allergy / asthma-causing pollutants.

Activated Carbon: if possible, look for a filter with activated carbon. This type of carbon is ‘activated’ with chemical agents and a smaller granule size to increase the carbon’s affinity or ‘attractive power’ for harmful chemical residues that often pollute indoor air. These chemical residues come from slow leakage from cleaning products, solvents, paints, etc, and often cause a range of ‘unexplained’ allergy / asthma symptoms, as well as headaches, eye / nose / throat / skin irritation, and more. Also, make sure the carbon is granular, not the crushed carbon found in many lower-grade filters. Granular carbon is far superior for absorbing pollutants. If it doesn’t say what kind of carbon, you can bet it’s crushed, not granular.

Some air purifier filters contain anywhere from a few grams to several pounds of activated carbon. In this case, the more carbon, the more effective the filter will be for removing chemicals and odors—and it will last longer, and require fewer filter replacements. Aller Air purifiers feature filters with anywhere from 12 to 36 pounds to over 100 pounds of activated carbon, and the carbon can be ‘tuned’ to absorb specific chemicals, if needed. Austin Air purifiers feature several pounds of carbon in their filters, as well. Austin and Aller Air both have medical-grade HEPA filters and enough activated carbon to effectively purify the air for those with severe allergies and other respiratory conditions.

Blueair and Winix air purifiers also have very good HEPA and activated carbon filters, though they are more focused on removing as much as 99.99% of airborne particles. We stock a large variety of air filters–just call or visit our website for more information.

  34. Who Isn’t Looking to Spend Less and Save More Money?

A Food Dehydrator is usually a valuable tool in cutting food costs, extending food provisions and eliminating food waste, over ripening and spoilage. Use a food dehydrator to save money by following these ideas.

Extend food shelf life and reduce waste and spoilage:
A Food Dehydrator is designed to remove a significant quantity of water from food. The water content of food is usually very high, usually between 80% to 95% for various vegatables and fruits and 50% to 75% for various meats. Elliminating moisture from food inhibits a variety of yeasts, molds and bacteria from growing and spoiling it. This makes dehydrated fruits, vegetables and jerky perfect for long term storage.

Buy foods on sale or in bulk:
Buy extra produce (fruits or vegetables) while they’re in abundance, in season and relatively less expensive. Dehydrate what you don’t consume and avoid over ripening or spoilage.

Make your own personal Beef Jerky:
Store bought beef jerky can be quite expensive on a per ounce basis. Assuming a 3.5 ounce package of jerky can cost about $4.00 or $1.14 per ounce. Instead, make home-made Beef Jerky by buying flank steak or sirloin tip, adding marinade or spices and drying. The Food Dehydrator calculator shows that a 1 pound piece of meat would make about 8 ounces or a half pound of jerky. If the meat cost $3.78 per pound the jerky cost would be about 47 cents per ounce.

    Stop buying candy and sweets:
Removing water from fruit also decreases the fruit’s volume, thus, once dried, the fruit’s sugar content becomes more concentrated per serving. This is the reason dried fruit tastes sweeter than fresh fruit. Make a healthier choice. Eat dried fruit as an alternative to candy, which is filled with processed sugars.

Keep emergency food supplies on hand:
A Food Dehydrator is an excellent tool to create non-perishable, shelf stable food. Dehydrated food, stored in airtight containers, can last for multiple years. Be prepared for emergencies and avoid potential tight food supplies and price gouging that can accompany natural or man-made disasters.

  35. One of the most annoying things to happen is pulling a potato chip from the bag that you closed as best you could, rolling it up and pressing the air from the bag only to find your chips went stale anyway.

It only gets worse when you retrieve that fine T-Bone steak from the freezer where you put it a couple of weeks ago, only to find it looks like it got some kind of desease because it’s covered with spots, turned brown and has ice crystals all over it. It’s what you might call freezer burn. So what’s going on here? There’s actually a perfectly reasonable physical explanation for what happens when food goes stale or becomes freezer burned. It has to do with air.

Having either a lack of moisture or an abundance of it causes different problems. If it’s moisture-laden, a chemical exchange with the ambient air occurs. Moisture escapes from a steak, for example, and dries it out. In the freezer, ice crystals form as moisture accumulates outside of the steak. The meat turns brown when the oxygen molecules in the air within the bag fills the void by the water modules that escaped from that bag when you don’t use a Vacuum Food Sealer.

Just the opposite occurs with lack of moisture, like with chips, when they are stored. What makes them stale and soft is when the air exchange infuses them with water modules. Food isn’t the only foodstuff to suffer at the hands of an air exchange. Wine goes bad and soda loses its carbonation. Either way, it’s a bad situation.

There are alternatives to freezer burn and stale chips. The food saver system, a home vacuum food sealer, is a kitchen appliance that removes the air surrounding the food that you wish to store and helps to preserve it.

  36. When using a Rice Cooker, even the most experienced person can have a disappointing result with burned chunks of gooey paste resulting in rice gone wrong.

Throughout the world rice is a staple in so many people’s diets. The grain is particularly important, both nutritionally and culturally, in Southeast Asia, so it’s no surprise that Japan introduced the first household electric Rice Cooker. In 1955 Toshiba made the first model, and other companies soon joined the market, adding innovations that expanded the abilities and features available in Rice Cookers. Rice cookers freed up the Japanese homemakers time from the task of carefully monitoring endless pots of rice by replacing the cast-iron pots that they used to cook over a coal stove.

Rice cookers can be very versatile in everyday use even though they’re geard primarily for rice. As a primary cooking tool, some people will even use their Rice Cooker for everything from spare ribs to spaghetti to scrambled eggs.

While most Rice Cookers do not speed up the cooking process noticeably, they can accomplish the task with less mistakes and less fuss than the average person armed with a stovetop pot.

  38. Just What Size of Rice Cooker is Right for Me?

An individual portion of rice ranges from 1/2 to 1 cup. So, for anyone who is a single individual or a couple you don’t want a huge Rice Cooker unless you’re the social kind who frequently has parties. The smallest capacity I’ve found sold outside of Japan (where they do sell 2-cup as well as 1-cup cookers) is three cups.

On the other hand, the newer Rice Cookers from high-quality manufacturers like Panasonic, Aroma, Hamilton Beach and so on handle small quantities of rice in their big-capacity Rice Cookers. For example the 35 cup capacity Mr. Rice model can cook 1 cup as well as 35 cups. Consequently, the size concern may possibly come down more to budget and the amount of countertop space you can give it.

One essential thing to remember if you are going to buy a Rice Cooker is that you should always use the small measuring cup that is included with it. The capacity of the cup is generally 180ml, which is less than a Japanese one cup (200ml) or an American one cup (220ml). In the event you do misplace that cup though, try measuring 180ml with a regular measuring cup.

  39. Some Neat Vacuum Food Sealer Tips and Tricks

A few tricks to creating pastas, casseroles and other meals are to prepare and pre-package. Put together double the recipe amount and you can either do the final baking or freeze after assembling for the second meal portion. A trick for freezing these types of meals is always to line the casserole dish or pan with aluminum foil first, then freeze the meal before vacuum sealing. This makes it possible for you to remove the meal from the dish or pan before sealing it in the Vacuum Food Sealer bag and you can use the dish or pan for other things. As soon as you are ready to use the frozen meal, un-bag it while it is still frozen and thaw in the original dish or pan before baking.

Freezing liquid food first before sealing it up in a Vacuum Food Sealer is the trick to fooling the Vacuum Food Sealer into thinking there is no liquid. Cooling the soup, stew or chili first is essential, then line square container with ordinary plastic bags (re-use bread or bun bags without holes) pour the liquids in the container and freeze.

Using square containers to freeze the liquids in will allow for the frozen food to be stacked inside the freezer simplier and easier than odd shapes. It is possible to leave the food in the original bag used for freezing just don’t seal that bag so all air is removed when sealing in the Vacuum Food Sealer bag. The additional bag will actually help to keep the food sealer bag cleaner for re-use.

  40. What kind of desserts can be made in a Rice Cooker?

The most apparent answer to this question is rice pudding of course. Baked fruit or fruit cobblers are healthy choices that are easy to make in a Rice Cooker. Custards can be made in smaller dishes that fit inside the Rice Cooker in the main pot or in the steaming basket.

Upside down cakes are a delicious treat, the key is to use a smaller plate that fits inside the pot when taking the cake out and turning it right side up. There is quite an assortment of recipes like these on the internet. There is even a recipe for a dark chocolate truffle cake that can be made in a Rice Cooker. Search, experiment and enjoy the variety of treats that can be made in the versatile appliance.

  41. Is it true that you can reuse Vacuum Food Sealer bags?

Most of the Food Sealer bag manufacturers state that bags can be reused unless they have had meat stored in them. You can get around the meat restriction by wrapping the meat in plastic wrap or placing a regular plastic bag (being sure to remove all air) and then sealing inside the Food Sealer bag. This allows you the flexibility to store the meat in single serving portions if you choose. The smaller portions thaw faster. You can prepackage any of the foods you choose to store in Vacuum Food Sealer bags to keep them clean and re-useable longer. You must be careful that the prepackaging does not allow air to be around the food and you should not use any twist ties that may puncture a hole in the outer food sealer bag. Vacuum Food Sealer bags should be thoroughly washed between each use.

When reusing bags that have been created from Food Sealer rolls, be sure to check the quality of all previous seals to make sure it will still hold the air tight seal. To help keep bags re-usable, write the contents and date on freezer tape and place the tape on the bag instead of writing directly on the bag itself. When making bags from rolls, make the length extra long so that you can reuse the bag for several additional seals.

  42. Two Things We Don’t Have Time For: Inferior Products and Illness

We are all very, very busy these days. Life is moving literally ‘at the speed of thought’ as Bill Gates put it. Computers, cell phones, and other appliances that are supposed to be time-saving devices actually end up using up more of our time because it enables us to be ‘engaged’ at just about any moment, 24 hours a day.

With this kind of pace, there are two things that we definitely do not have time for: inferior products and illness—especially unnecessary illness. That is why we do our best find solid, reputable products and services, as well as avoid things that may cause us to have unwanted, unpleasant ‘downtime’ from illness.

Whatever product it is, most of the time if the majority of the ratings and reviews are good, you’re pretty safe. And it’s usually better to spend just a little more for a quality product the first time, rather than have an inferior product fail in the first year and have to repair or replace it, which ends up costing us potentially twice as much!

And all of this relates to things we use every day to safeguard / improve our health. With regard to water and air, we have a choice: we can either USE a filter or we can BE the filter, letting our bodies try to trap and clean up pollutants that are in the water and air we consume. And literally, stopping pollutants from entering our bodies through water or air can mean the difference between more happy time with our friends and families or more time spent recovering from illness. Again, in most cases, this is a choice that we can make. By the way, for water filtration, we recommend the ZeroWater filters—they have outperformed several more expensive water filtration devices. It just does a better job, for less.

With regard to air filtration, selecting quality air purifiers and cleaners can help us sleep better, reduce or eliminate allergies / asthma symptoms, avoid bacteria and viruses come along with dust, pet dander, and just overall help us breathe easier.

At Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com, we have done our best to bring together only the best quality, best value in air purification equipment. Names like Alen, Aller Air, Austin, Blueair, etc., are well-known for quality and effectiveness. This is definitely one type of product where you ‘get what you pay for’. Still, we have products to fit almost any budget that will make a difference in how you feel every day, minimize the unnecessary downtime from illness, and maximize your time with family and friends.

  43. Do You or a Loved One Have Respiratory Distress, COPD, etc? Read This!

I’d like to tell you a short, amazing story about a man named Richard Taylor. Like so many people, Richard’s wife Joyce, had constant, but unexplained breathing problems. Doctors and specialists were unable to improve her breathing situation with therapies or medications. Dietary changes did not help, either.

After years of watching Joyce suffer, Richard realized that the one variable that hadn’t been addressed was the air quality in their home. Richard knew that there was one place where Joyce’s breathing problems were significantly better than anywhere else—the ‘clean room’ at the hospital–where facilities were kept very clean and the air was being filtered.

Using proven medical technology, Richard and a team of engineers went to work to design a filter that would address every potential air quality issue: sub-micron particles (including bacteria & viruses, dust & dust mites, mold spores, etc.), and chemicals & gases, without using or producing any ozone or emitting any other by products. To do this, they had to use medical-grade HEPA filtering media and activated carbon. And not just any activated carbon–a specially-designed type of activated carbon was used that is much more porous, and chemically ‘attracted’ to chemical / gas pollutants than ‘normal’ activated carbon.
Now that a powerful filter was in place, they added a 360 degree intake system, pulling air from all sides at once, which delivers more clean air, faster than any other air purifier on the market.

All of this technology was assembled in a rugged, solid steel chassis with simple, easy-to-use controls. The result? Very shortly after using this air purifier, Joyce was finally sleeping through the night in their home. The Austin HealthMate Air Cleaner was born, and obviously, mission accomplished.

If you or someone you care about has respiratory issues, COPD, allergies, asthma, do yourself and / or them a favor and consider Austin Air. They have several models to choose from, each designed for a specific situation: HealthMate, Bedroom Machine, Allergy Machine, Pet Machine, and Baby’s Breath. The Junior series is for smaller rooms, and those who want the power of an Austin air cleaner at a budget-friendly price. The HealthMate Plus model is designed for those with existing respiratory conditions, MCS or other highly-sensitive situations. The filters last an amazing 5 years, so you won’t be changing a filter for a while, either.

And, all Austin air cleaners come with a 5 year mechanical warranty, 5 year pro-rated filter warranty, and a 30 Day No Questions Money Back Guarantee. And…there are tons of incredible testimonials to even further prove that Austin is the best air purifier value on the market today.

  44. Super Bowl Party Foods Hot Appetizers in Rice Cookers

Hot appetizers make great snacks for those Super Bowl Parties. Not sure how you would keep them warm without burning them? Look no further than your rice cooker. The warm setting on your rice cooker allows appetizers or any food to stay hot without burning. Rice cookers are versatile kitchen appliances that go overlooked for preparing other food beyond just rice. Automatic rice cookers can be used for recipes like taco meat for making Walking Tacos (meat over corn chips), cheese sauces for nachos or hot artichoke dip served with crackers, vegetables and bread for dipping. They are great for making snack foods like barbeque meatballs or sausages, chicken wings, baked beans or bean dips for those upcoming football or dinner parties. Sweet treats can be made in the form of chocolate dips for pretzels, cake wedges, cookies or fruit. Warm puddings or hot fruit desserts are great served with ice cream.

Rice cookers range in sizes from small 3 cup rice cookers to 10 cup rice cookers or larger. Some units come with optional food steaming trays allowing for multiple foods to be prepared or kept warm at the same time. An example may be to place the sausage links in the steaming tray while warming baked beans in the main unit. When using a rice cooker to prepare a main meal, the steaming tray can be used for cooking vegetables and/or meat while preparing another part of the meal like rice in the main unit. Rice cookers are easy to clean with removable steam tray and main kettle unit.

  45. Household Appliances That Actually Improve Our Health!

Most of us rely on dishwashers, clothing washers, etc., keep dishes and clothing clean so bacteria, viruses, and other ‘intruders’ don’t get a chance to make us sick. It’s simple, something we do every day, and it works.

The same should be true about the air we breathe. Good air purifiers prevent harmful particles and chemicals from entering our bodies, particles such as dust / dust mites, bacteria & viruses, mold, pet dander and more that are proven to cause allergy / asthma symptoms, and / or colds, flu, etc. And 99% of this is avoidable. It’s just like washing the dishes—with clean dishes, you don’t ingest bacteria the next time you eat a meal. Makes sense, right?

Indoor air is up to 5 times more polluted than outside air because a good portion of the air is the same air being recycled around, air that has dust and other particles, gases from cleaning supplies, etc added to it, and most often we breathe it in before the air conditioning system can completely change out all the air. And even when all the air is exchanged with fresh air, without the right kind of filter, bacteria, viruses, mold spores, chemical vapors, etc., slip right through for us and our families to inhale. That’s where a quality air purifier comes in—those with true HEPA filters remove over 99% of airborne particles, and those with activated carbon can remove gases / vapors from chemicals. Some even offer UV light and / or healthy negative ions, which destroy bacteria and viruses on contact—things your air conditioner filter simply cannot do.

Humans inhale about 10,000 quarts of air per day and with people currently spending over 90% of their time indoors, good indoor air quality can literally make the difference between staying well, or getting sick on a regular basis. Air purifiers are one of the few appliances that can improve your health by keeping your air clean!

What air purifiers offer the best bang for the buck? Typically, those from top brands like Blueair, Alen, Aller Air, Austin, Winix do an incredible job and won’t break the bank. To determine which type / model fits your situation best, click here.

  46. Did You Know…That the EPA has Ranked Air Quality and Pollution of Indoor Air in the Top 5 Environmental Risks to Our Health?

In 2009, the EPA published its review of air quality and pollution as it relates to indoor air, and clearly identified indoor air in the top 5 risks to our health (read the EPA article here). And it’s even more true now. Allergies and asthma have been increasing for the last 30 years–with new industrial activities, more people on the planet, more ’stuff’ in the air, it makes sense that our outside air would become more polluted. But the real issue is the air quality and pollution in our homes and offices. Since there is nothing our bodies have greater exposure to than the air we breathe, that makes indoor air a serious issue.

Think about it like this: the average person today inhales over 10,000 quarts of air each day and spends at least 90% of their time indoors. Dust almost always carries dust mites (#1 allergen known to man), mold spores, bacteria, viruses, smoke (and related tobacco chemicals, if there has been a smoker in the area). So if we’re spending the majority of our time indoors, and there are no air purifiers, nothing to trap these particles (even chemical / gaseous elements), we breathe them in.

And over time, those particles accumulate and cause things like allergies, headaches…Click here to read more: http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/air-quality-and-pollution-indoor-air.html

  47. Dangers of House Mold

So what is mold exactly? Mold is a type of fungus that is essentially everywhere–in our homes, offices, outside, etc. Mold spores, which are tiny microscopic ‘seeds’, are everywhere, too–especially in damp areas of our homes, and even mixed in with dust. These mold spores can grow on just about anything if conditions are correct–i.e. some type of organic matter and water. Usually, if you see mold–it means there is a moisture problem somewhere close by.

The more alarming issue is having these mold spores floating around in our indoor air–which is something that should not be tolerated as mold spores can cause a whole range of allergic reactions, and some generalized, hard-to-identify illnesses. 48. Did You Know…That the EPA has ranked Indoor Air Quality in the Top 5 Environmental Risks to Our Health?

It’s true. And it’s no wonder that allergies and asthma have been increasing. Air pollution has increased and there is nothing our bodies have greater exposure to– than the air we breathe! The average person inhales over 10,000 quarts of air each day and spends 90% of their time indoors, indoor air quality has become a serious issue—and just putting a better filter in your home air system isn’t enough.

Conditions such as allergies, headaches, fatigue, eye / nose / throat irritation, insomnia, even depression and more serious chronic conditions…have all been found related to poor indoor air quality. Really. In fact, a growing number of people are experiencing a whole list of symptoms that seem to be some kind of ‘mystery illness’. Take a look at this list of symptoms below…Click here to read more: http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/indoor-air-quality.html

  49. Regarding the Rice Cooker cup that usually comes included with a Rice Cooker.

One essential thing to bear in mind if you are going to buy a Rice Cooker is that you should always use the small measuring cup that is included with it. The capacity of the cup is generally 180ml, which is generally less than a Japanese one cup (200ml) or an American one cup (220ml). However, in the event you do misplace that cup, try measuring out 180ml with a regular measuring cup.

Most of our Rice Cookers at http://www.RiceCookersMarket.com come with a measuring cup included, so stop by today for everyday low savings.

  50. About 25-30 years ago Vacuum Food Sealers started to be advertised on TV. They were bulky and cumbersome back then but now the technology has advanced greatly. They have become more affordable and have more bells and whistles. So the question begs to be answered, are there actual benefits or are they just another gimmick?

The most important thing to know is there is some science involved with the Vacuum Food Sealer and what it does. AIR is the culprit to your food. The oxygen that is all around us is a mixture of gases; oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. These gases can chemically change different substances they come in contact with. For example, rust takes over steel because the oxygen is reacting with the iron particles in steel thus forming iron oxide or rust.

These same gases will also chemically change your precious foods as well. Odd tastes, discoloration or even mold can take over food if not contained properly. When you remove the air from your Vacuum Sealer bag, all the gases and their chemical abilities are removed as well letting your food stay healthy and colorful while in the freezer.

As you can see, vacuum food sealers are an excellent household appliance to have in your home. They can save you money and time and they just make good sense to have. Our site, Food Sealer Shop has a host of tips and information on everything to do with vacuum food sealers.

We offer FAST shipping anywhere within the continental United States and 100% SAFE Secure Check-out at http://www.FoodSealerShop.com for all your purchases.

  51. Tips on Using Your Vacuum Food Sealer

Now that harvest season is almost over maybe you can concentrate on purchasing bulk foods that are on sale at the grocery store and freezing them for future meals. So, when beginning any vacuum food sealer project, make sure you have enough materials on hand. Have plenty of Vacuum Food Sealer Bags or if you are using rolls then cut them into sizes that you will be needing.

If you will be sealing up liquids then the first thing you should do is freeze the food. Freeze them up into square sizes (like Tupperware bowls), remove the food from the bowls, slip the frozen squares into a vacuum food sealer bag and seal it up. Then it’s easier to stack your food in the freezer after it’s all bagged up. You don’t want to vacuum seal liquids, it will ruin the vacuum food sealer rather quickly.

When sealing the Vacuum Food Sealer Bags make sure there is ample room at the opening of the bag for a proper seal. Another trick is to double seal the bag. Once the air is sucked out and the bag is sealed, pull the bag out to just the sealer part and re-seal.

By all means, do not make an assembly line production out of vacuum sealing, this will eventually burn out your vacuum food sealer or it will just shut off and you will have to wait the allotted time before it cools down and re-starts again.

At the http://www.FoodSealerShop.com we offer FAST shipping to anywhere within the continental United States, SAFE 100% secure check-out and the best possible prices everyday.

You can preserve all types of foods and liquids including soups, wine and more. But that isn’t all they can be used for. People use them to vacuum seal non-food items around the house. 54. I’ve heard I can use my rice cooker to make more than just rice, what other things can I use it for?

Well, Rice cookers can be used as versatile kitchen appliances even if you have just the basic no frills added model. Rice cookers can be used to make everything from breakfasts, soups, chili, stews, appetizers, deserts and 30 minute hearty one pot dinners.

For breakfasts rice cookers can be used to make hot cereals like oatmeal, or French toast bake, just to name a few. If your rice cooker has a steaming tray you can make steamed fruit along with your recipe. Apples or pears with cinnamon and honey make a great side dish for breakfast. For appetizers, any of the cheese dips and nacho sauces initially cooks well in the rice cooker and stay warm without burning for those football parties. Warm puddings and fruit desserts are easy to make in rice cookers.

Rice cookers are appliances intended to heat its contents to a high temperature quickly to cook and then turn itself to warm when it has reached a certain temperature and/or water content. This makes them great tools in the kitchen to get meals on the table quickly. Meats can be browned in rice cookers if you have models that do not require covers to be sealed in order for cooking. Some models are constructed this way to capture the steam that is created during the cooking process. These types of models will not allow you to brown your meat. Browning meat in the rice cooker can take some practice. Because the unit is designed to heat to a certain temperature and water content level and then automatically change to warm mode, liquid may need to be added while browning meat to keep the unit in cook mode while browning. Because rice cookers are intended to cook quickly the types of meat used in recipes should be meats that remain tender under these conditions. Ground meats, sausages, sea food, poultry and pork are excellent choices.

At http://www.RiceCookersMarket.com we have a great selection of Rice Cookers all at the lowest possible sale prices and with a 100% safe secure check-out. We also offer FAST shipping on all our products.

  55. It’s harvest time, what can I do with all the fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs to make them last longer?

It’s fall which means it is harvest time across much of the United States. Even if you didn’t plant your own garden there is plenty of fresh produce available through friends, neighbors, produce stands and local farmers markets. If you are like most people the wonderful fresh taste of local grown vegetables, fruits and herbs can’t last long enough. If you are not into canning and freezing there is another way to preserve the wonderfully tasteful treasures well into the winter months and beyond. Dehydration is an easy form of preserving foods by removing the water content from the fruits, vegetables, herbs and even meat. Dehydration goes back to ancient times, from the pyramids, Pilgrims, Indians and wagon trains. All these people used the drying food method to preserve and stretch their harvests through the winter months and while traveling.

Food Dehydrators do not take up space for storage and are available in economical units for individuals wanting to try their hand at it. Dehydrated food can be stored in jars, air tight plastic containers and seal-able bags. Fruits can be dried to be stored for future use or to be used as healthy and nutritious snacks. Fruits can be pureed and then dried to make fruit roll ups or leathers that are a big hit with kids. Mixing different blends of fruits and adding spices or nuts can allow for individual creativity. Drying vegetables that can later be used for winter soups and stews make for tasty comfort food treats. Finely chopping the dried vegetables can also make good seasonings for salad toppings or dip additions. Some dried vegetables like carrots and zucchini can be dried into vegetable chips to be eaten as a snack. Based on your individual taste the possibilities are endless.

Herb drying is another wonderful use for a food dehydrator. Individual herbs can be dried and then used into your own special seasoning mixes without the commercial additives, salt and preservatives. Dehydrators can be used year round to stretch your dollars. Produce is on sales at grocery stores weekly and because you can dry the food and preserve it for long periods of time. You can purchase large amounts on sale and dry until needed. Frozen fruits and vegetables will work in the dehydrator as well as long as it is thawed and well drained before drying.

We offer FAST shipping, 100% SAFE secure check-out and the lowest possible prices at http://www.FoodSealerShop.com so stop on by and save.

  56. Recycle your Plastic Bags in a Healthy way.

It may surprise you to learn that there are many different kinds of bag dispensers that can help you organize, recycle and dispense them. These items prove their usefulness over and over again, since there are several different areas of daily life in which people can use bags.

    Umbrella bag dispensers

An umbrella bags is an ingenious device that are often placed inside the doors of offices, shops, or other public buildings. On rainy days, people come in the door, slide their wet umbrellas into a thin plastic bag, and carry them around while they shop or visit. By doing this, they don’t get dripped on by their wet umbrellas, and the umbrellas don’t drip water through the store, causing a safety risk. Of course, these umbrella bags require an apparatus to hold and dispense them.

    Waste bag dispensers

Anyone with pets knows how important it is to have the waste bags at hand the moment they are needed. A waste bad dispenser mounted near a bird cage, litter box, rabbit cage, or the back door for when your customers take their dogs for walks is an efficient way to make their life cleaner and easier. Waste bags have the advantage in that many companies make them biodegradable, so that they can be thrown away or composted once the waste is inside the bag. So not only are you making their lives easier, you are showing your commitment to ecological responsibility when you provide them with dispensers for these bags.

    Grocery bag dispensers

When the sacker asks us, “Paper or plastic,” most of us choose plastic, and we go home with plastic grocery bags. We often use these bags again, but in the meantime they tend to get stuffed into drawers or behind appliances, making our kitchens and break rooms look cluttered and messy. But we can’t just throw them away, either, because we don’t know when we’ll need them for any number of activities. This is why a grocery bag dispenser is such an ideal item for almost anybody; everyone faces this dilemma at some point. But a grocery bag dispenser mounts on the wall where someone can easily stuff plastic bags in the top once they’re empty, then draw them from the bottom again when they are needed.

Come visit us at Amish Furniture Crafts and see our nice selection of Amish Handmade Birdhouse Plastic Bag Dispensers w/ multiple design options.

  57. This time of year is my favorite, enjoying fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs out of the garden or fresh from the farmers market. You just can’t beat the vibrant tastes from garden ripened produce. The problem is how to extend the time to enjoy such nutritious and tasty treats. Our mothers and grandmothers used the canning method to preserve food into the winter and spring of the following year because they didn’t necessarily have a Vacuum Food Sealer back then. Canning requires the necessary equipment and the space to store both the filled and empty jars as well as the equipment when not in use. Some people are intimidated by the canning process and use of pressure cookers for processing some of the foods. Another drawback to canning is the cooking time needed to seal the jars can rob the contents of its nutritional value. Canning is a good method if you have large amounts of food to put up.

Freezing is an economical solution to preserving fresh produce into the winter months. It will require an upfront investment in a Vacuum Food Sealer and freezer space will be required for storage. You do not need a professional or commercial unit to get started. Vacuum food sealers do come with various options and accessories that can increase your return on investment. Bags can be considered an investment but unless used to store raw meat, bags can be washed and reused. Replacement vacuum sealer bags are best marked with freezer tape so that it can be removed and remarked on reuse of the bag. The trick to using vacuum food sealers with liquids is to freeze the liquids first and then place them in the sealing bags. Freezing food in square containers allow for easier stacking of the bags in the freezer. Onions, peppers and herbs can be diced and frozen in ice cube trays for convenient use in winter soups, stews or any favorite comfort food dish.

Here at the http://www.FoodSealerShop.com we offer economical Vacuum Food Sealers, Bags, Rolls and accessories at the best possible discount prices. We have a safe 100% secure and easy check-out process along with fast prompt shipping.

  59. The Benefits of Vacuum Sealing Food

Think about using a Vacuum Food Sealer for the ultimate in food preservation and storage. Much like Food Dehydration, vacuum packaging prevents food from contact with air and moisture, which will cause food to spoil. An airtight seal also locks in the food’s taste and quality.

It is possible to combine dehydration and vacuum sealing for long term storage, however, either one alone ought to do just great. Which foods you dehydrate or vacuum pack will depend on the food you are preparing. For example, when you dehydrate meat, you get jerky. And you can’t use the jerky for anything other than jerky. But when you vacuum pack the meat (and freeze it), you can still grill or bake or prepare the meat any way you like after it’s thawed out.

At The http://www.FoodSealerShop.com we have Food Saver Vacuum Sealers and Food Dehydrators for every occasion.

  60. When Your Rice Cooker Needs a Cleaning

Is your Rice Cooker getting a bit too gunky for your eating pleasure? Maybe you accidentally left it laying on the shelf with some rice still left in it and it’s starting to stink a bit! Or perhaps you just want to give it a complete overhaul and clean it up really good.

Well I have searched the world over for a cleaning solution and have come up with a couple of solutions to rejuvenate your Rice Cooker to make it almost like new.

Initial Cleaning – After cleaning the rice from the pot, mold, gunk and all, wash the pot with soap and warm water, inside and out. Whatever you do, do not run moldy rice down the sink drain even if you have a disposal. The mold spores will be all over the place, not to mention the possibility of clogging up your drains. No, scrape it all into the garbage bin and take it out to the curb.

Secondary Cleaning – For good measure, have at it with soap and water again, figuring that the smell is probably still lingering around in the Rice Cooker pot.

Smell Elimination – Then take a bottle of “Veggie Wash” (an organic mix, made up of citrus and coconut extracts) and spray the container generously. The citrus kicks in almost immediately and, in addition to helping with the smell, sends the citrusy goodness to fight any last lingering bacteria.

Tip: You can pick up a fruit & veggie wash at your local grocery store in the produce section. A fresh lemon, cut, squeezed, and rubbed over the affected areas would do the job as well.

If the problem is really, really bad, then you may want to bleach the Rice Cooker pot, cover and steam valve on the cover, rinse very well and it should be fine.

Remember, there are nooks and crannies that the mold get into that need to be cleaned, and possibly parts that need to be replaced. simply washing the bowl is not enough. you need bleach, q-tips for electronic parts, and only soak the submersible parts.

When your Rice Cooker is in need of replacing, visit us at http://www.RiceCookersMarket.com and browse through our extensive inventory of Rice Cookers and Food Steamers.

  62. I keep hearing how people prefer non-stick to stainless steel. Well, let me tell you, non-stick is not it’s all cracked up to be.

This past weekend I used a kitchen gadget that had a non-stick surface. As I was in a hurry to prepare dinner, I did not spray the surface with cooking spray as per manufacture’s instructions, thinking that the food would not stick to the surface. Well let me tell you the eggs I was cooking stuck to the so called non-stick surface and were a complete mess.

Had I used stainless steel cookware, I would not have had the food stick and it would have looked presentable to my husband.

At http://www.stainlesssteelcookware.com we offer a full line of stainless steel cookware that will not stick and will help you to present delicious looking food to your family.

  66. Many people will refrain from trying to use a stainless rice cooker because of the challenge it appears to provide. However, using the correct techniques, cooking in a stainless steel rice cooker is just as easy as using a non-stick one. The reason you would want a stainless-steel version is the lack of any additional chemicals affecting your food.

For some foods simply coat the inner pot with cooking oil. In most cases this works great. If, however, you are cooking rice, it will tend to stick to the pan after the cooking process has completed. If that is the case, then soak the pan in warm water and a mild soap for about 30 minutes and lightly scrub the remains out. Another option is to use Zud brand powder cleanser and it will leave your pot shiny and like new looking.

Cooking with a stainless steel rice cooker has so many more advantages than the coated one. The major advantage is simply no adverse chemicals are seeped into the food from the pot, thereby giving you a delicious delectable dish to serve to yourself, friends or family. Another advantage is the even cooking that the pot does since it is a mirror finish.

We have the ultimate in Stainless Steel Rice Cookers at http://www.ricecookersmarket.com as well as a variety of others.

  67. About 30 years ago reasonably priced vacuum food sealers for the home started to emerge on television ads. Since that time, the technology has advanced significantly, as they have also become more affordable. This in turn, has led to more and more people using them in their households. Is the technology contained in a vacuum food sealer simply a catchy gimmick, or is there any real benefit that it brings to the sealing process?

Of course there is the apparent advantage of a more eye-catching compact package, but is there something more that the actual vacuum environment has to offer? The fact is, that there is a little bit of science involved in the vacuum food sealer and what it does. It all has to do with the air that is sucked out of the food sealer bag as well as what is contained in the package.

The air that surrounds you is in reality a mixture of a handful of gases, including oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. All of these gases have the ability to effect their own chemical change on the different substances that they come into contact with. For example, when metal rusts, it is because the oxygen in the atmosphere is reacting with the iron in the metal to form “iron oxide” or rust.

These multitudes of chemical reactions are precisely the reason for staining and abnormal tastes in foods that come into contact with the air. Just leave a slice of apple, or pear out in the open air for an hour or so and you see the results for yourself. Of course bacteria and mold can and will have effects on exposed foods but they require water.

By eliminating all the air from a package with a vacuum food sealer, all of the gases and their ability for chemical reactions are removed. This is precisely the reason that now when you buy food items at your neighboring grocery store, if they are packaged, it quite possible that the item was packed using a vacuum food sealer.

So if you would like to protect your leftovers or mass food purchases, visit us at http://www.foodsealershop.com and see the variety of products we have to offer.

  69. We are all interested in keeping our world clean and beautiful. In today’s society, we hear buzz words like carbon footprint, sustainable energy, green building and other phrases that come out of efforts to protect and preserve our environment. Recycling every day household items is one way each of us can do our part. Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to burn a regular 60 watt light bulb for three hours! You want to do your part, but that is not always easy. Recycling aluminum cans can be messy and time consuming.
A recycle bin that has a built-in can crusher is a great idea. Each bag holds four hundred crushed cans, reducing the number of bags you have to purchase as well as the amount of storage space needed to hold them between garbage pick up or delivery to the recycling center. It is an attractive container that you wouldn’t be embarrassed to have in your kitchen or utility room. This bin is made for residential recycling and makes it easy for you to do your part.

  81. Today consumers have become extra conscious about shifting their eating behavior toward certain trends. Eating dehydrated fruit and veggies is becoming an advantageous option to eating snacks. They really are outstanding for your quality of life and can provide you with a variety of significant nutritional vitamins and minerals necessary by your body. Though, the commercial dehydrated foods may have certain chemicals in the form of preservatives like sulfur dioxide. In an effort to steer clear of these problems, you can either purchase the dehydrated foods at a trusted heath store or dehydrate them yourself at home. For drying the food items in your own home you will need to have a good food dehydrator which can do the job for you.

Home Food Dehydrators are available in two types. One type has stack-able trays while the 2nd form has a strong box with removable cabinets. You need to take into consideration the size of the food drier. Small ones can fit on your counter-top while there are larger and freestanding designs also. The larger ones would need extra space.

You will find different models too. Some have fans mounted at the bottom and top which circulate the air vertically. Another type has the fan installed at its rear part to move the air horizontally. One other model uses the method of convection for drying and has no fan at all. Designs which have the fans mounted on the top are considered to be the most effective since they stop the blending of food flavors, dripping etc. An additional point to note is the heating element. Check if it’s enclosed or not. If it is enclosed it’s better since the juices from your foods won’t cause problems while dripping on it. Confirm the wattage of the dehydrator. The more power it has the more would be the drying capacity. For average dehydrating you may require almost 500 watts. Some models have the option where you can add additional trays. These products require having more watts for performing efficiently. Probably the most essential factor to take into consideration would be the dimension. You select the equipment based on the space available in your cooking area. Other important features on these devices include timers, changeable thermostats, provision to include extra trays, size of the tray etc.

At The http://www.FoodSealerShop.com we have a variety of household, professional and commercial food dehydrators to select from.

  83. If you know how to boil water, you’ll be able to cook rice, at least that’s the presumption. You still have to watch over it, adjusting the heat in addition to turning it off in time to ensure the pot doesn’t boil over or burn.

An automatic rice cooker makes the entire job worry-free. If you are able to measure, you’ll be able to create perfect rice every time. This can be a benefit even for good cooks, who after turning on the cooker are free to concentrate on the parts of the meal where no equipment would be needed to take over.

Lots of today’s Rice Cookers are like microcomputers, with smart heating systems, preset options that guarantee hot rice at a specific time, steaming trays that help it become possible to cook a whole meal in a single appliance and settings for various kinds of grains, including brown rice. Most even have an automatic warming feature, which is a pleasant bonus. Even with the lowest of flames, you would be hard-pressed to keep rice warm on the stove without getting a thick crust on the bottom.

At the press of a button or a flip of a switch, the rice cooker will keep an eye on itself, noting its temperature and, in a few high-tech cases, make use of fuzzy logic to regulate its own settings. Taking into consideration the wide price range in rice cookers, how frequently you eat rice is a good gauge of the amount you might want to spend on a rice cooker. At its simplest, a rice cooker works by means of a thermostat. Inside the center of the heating plate is a small thermal sensing mechanism on a spring. When rice and water are placed inside the cooking pot, which fits into the rice cooker, the weight of the pot depresses the thermal sensor.

Turn on the rice cooker and an electric coil warms up the heating plate and brings the water to a boil. Once the rice has absorbed all of the water, the temperature will start to rise past 212 degrees (the boiling point of water). When the thermal sensor senses this, the system turns off the heat and switches to the “keep warm” cycle.

Purchasing a Rice Cooker from http://www.ricecookersmarket.com is even easier then using one, so visit us today and shop our store.

  87. What exactly is a Rice Cooker?

Rice Cookers are geared primarily for rice but are generally incredibly adaptable in their uses. Many people even make use of Rice Cookers as their principal cooking tool, for everything from spaghetti to scrambled eggs to spare ribs.

Rice is known as a staple in many individuals diets around the world. The grain is particularly significant, both nutritionally and culturally, in Southeast Asia, so it is no surprise that Japan introduced the initial household electric rice cooker. That first model was made by Toshiba in 1955, and other businesses soon joined the marketplace, adding innovations that expanded the abilities and features accessible in rice cookers. Replacing the traditional cast-iron pots, which cooked over a coal stove, Rice Cookers soon freed Japanese homemakers from the tiresome chore of vigilantly monitoring endless pots of rice.

  88. How To Clean Your Vacuum Food Sealer

It is very important to keep your Vacuum Food Sealer clean, especially if you use it a lot. Since it’s important to handle food near it, it is important that you keep your Sealer free from bacterias. Allow me to share some tips on the topic of keeping your vacuum food sealer clean.

Use antibacterial soaps or cleansers. You may want to pick a mild cleaner that kills germs but isn’t toxic. Using a bleach product is not recommended, since you are going to be using this appliance to help you store your food. Use gentle soaps or cleansers that won’t make you sick. First, always unplug your Vacuum Food Sealer prior to cleaning it. Don’t submerge it in water, either, as this will likely damage the inner electronics. Use a damp rag, sponge, or paper towel to wipe down the machine. Just remember to clean the buttons, the vacuum channel (which catches the fluids), and the complete surface of the Food Sealer.

After you have cleaned all of the parts with water and a gentle soap, go over each area again with just water. This will flush away any soap residue which can make your Vacuum Food Sealer sticky. Remember, don’t use too much water. Put just enough on a rag or sponge to rinse away left over soap. Now that you have thoroughly cleaned your Sealer, it’s time for the next step. Take a dry cloth or perhaps a paper towel and dry the vacuum channel and other surfaces of the appliance. Ensure that all parts of it are totally dry before you utilize it again. You could potentially get an electrical shock if you use it while it’s still wet.

That’s the final step. Now that you have gotten rid of all the dust, germs, and food juices left on your Vacuum Food Sealer, you can put it back to use again. Just be sure you give it a thorough cleaning often, so there’s not a lot of build up over time.

  94. Vacuum Food Sealer Secret - Sous Vide

It’s been used at top dining places for awhile, and now you can actually try it at home. Plainly put, Sous Vide translates to “under vacuum,” an innovative method of infusing flavor into food. To assist you in starting out there’s a fairly new generation of Vacuum Food Sealers that make it simple to bring the advantages of Sous Vide cooking right to your kitchen table! The Sous Vide cooking method originated in France and begins by vacuum sealing food with seasonings, like oil or spices, in an air-tight bag. By taking away the air using a Vacuum Food Sealer, the pores of the food are opened and the essence from your seasonings is absorbed more rapidly and much more intensely, thereby enhancing the flavor. The sealed bag is then placed into water and cooked at lower temperatures for an extended period of time, pulling flavors into the food and keeping it moist through-out the cooking process. Sous vide is great for sealing in flavor, consistency and nutritional value when cooking various meats and vegetables and since you cook at lower temperatures you’ll never overcook your food! Using a vacuum sealed bag means less mess too, so clean-up is really a snap!

Some foods don’t need to be cooked to realize the improved taste and texture achieved through the use of a Vacuum Food Sealer alone. Place your preferred fruit, like watermelon, peaches or pineapple, inside a vacuum sealed bag along with fragrant spices or flavored syrup and store the bag in the refrigerator or freezer until you’re ready to eat. Using a vacuum sealer is an ideal way to enhance the flavor of a number of cold foods, like fresh veggies and cheeses like marinated fresh mozzarella.

So what are you waiting for? Get your Vacuum Food Sealer today at http://www.foodsealershop.com and start enjoying new flavorful and healthier foods.

  95. Steamed Fish Fish for Dinner

Many medical doctors and nutritionists are recommending that we consume fish 2 or 3 times a week for the sake of maintaining an improved heart and circulatory system. Food steamers are an effective way to prepare your heart healthy fish and seafood. I’ve developed several quick ideas to suit your needs regarding how to use a food steamer to prepare these foods. They are not all inclusive, but should provide you with a general idea of how you can steam a number of these. You can always get imaginative and add your own personal touch to these basic steamer recipes.

Steamed fish is incredibly easy to create and really fast. You simply steam any type of fish. Catfish, cod, white fish, tilapia, orange roughy or just about any fish will do well. It’s best to steam fish fillets or steaks, but you could potentially steam a whole cleaned fish if you have room in your steamer. Fish is usually cooked in a steamer basket that goes into a pot over the stove, or it can be done in a steamer that goes right into a microwave. In either case, just be sure to use a bit of oil or non-stick cooking spray to keep the fish from sticking to the steamer.

To cook fish, bring some water to a boil, then place the fillets in the Food Steamer and set it inside the pot. Bear in mind, you don’t want the water to touch the fish. Cover, steam and check the fish after 3 or 4 minutes. If it flakes with a fork, it’s done. Bigger pieces and whole fish would require more time. To season the fish you can actually add your preference before cooking: lemon, lime, salt, pepper, paprika, or anything else that appeals to you. Try placing a slice of onion on top of each fillet.

  98. STOP Wasting Leftover Food, Save It For Later!

If you have ever cooked too much food at one meal, chances are you’ll be searching for a way to save this food. Nobody likes throwing out perfectly good food, but sometimes recipes create just a little too much for all your family to consume. This is the primary reason why food saver bags were invented. People needed a simple option to store leftovers that would allow them to remain fresh until they may be eaten. Not only does this provide you with another meal to eat, but it also saves money in the long run.

You will find many different types of bags used for storing food via vacuum food sealing. The various kinds are based on the particular needs of those using them. The primary factor you need to consider when buying your sealer bags is quality. You want durable bags that aren’t prone to leaking, as this tends to make a mess in your refrigerator and make food storage a huge hassle. These tiny holes would also allow air to reach the foodstuff inside, shortening the time it stays good while being stored.

AIR is the enemy of your food. Protect your foods better when you purchase your food sealer products at http://www.foodsealershop.com

  102. Ever Wonder what the Vacuum Sealer Accessories are For?

Canister containers can be used for storing fragile food such as chips and crackers where the suction from the vacuuming would crush the item if just stored in a collapsible bag. Canisters are the best vacuum sealer machine attachment for marinating meat. When the vacuum pulls the air out of the canister it opens the pores of the meat in the container allowing the seasoning to penetrate the meat. This speeds the marinating process to a fraction of time it would take without the vacuum. The ability to quickly marinate meats allows for purchasing the bulk size packages of meat, bringing them home and making a variety of meals by using different marinades and packaging in single meal size servings. This is not only a money saver but a time saver as well.

A trick when trying to seal bags or pouches with liquid is to freeze the liquid first. To make the food stack-able and to save space in the freezer use greased plastic storage containers to freeze the liquid in. Once the contents are frozen they can be removed from the plastic container and the liquid will be less likely to be sucked up in the vacuum when being sealed in the bags. The Food Sealer Shop offers these canister accessories for both home use and commercial grade machines.

We have many types of Vacuum Sealer bags and marinizers at http://www.foodsealershop.com as well as popular brands of Vacuum Food Sealers.

  105. Oatmeal In a Rice Cooker?

Would you like to get more use out of your small kitchen appliance? Try cooking oatmeal in an electric Rice Cooker for a warm nutritious breakfast. The best method for fool proof oatmeal is to use steel cut oats in a unit that has fuzzy logic technology and using either the porridge or brown rice setting (approximate cooking time to be about 40 minutes).

Timers are an added benefit so it can be programmed to have breakfast ready. Recipes on how to cook oatmeal in a Rice Cooker vary the ratio of oats to water to be 1/4 cup oats to 1 cups water to ½ cup oats to 1 cup water. 1-2 servings can be prepared in cookers as small as 5 cups, but more servings should be prepared in units ranging from 8 to 10 cups to avoid the oatmeal from boiling over. Other variations to the standard recipe for oatmeal include replacing some of the water with milk or adding mix-ins like fruit (banana, apple, pumpkin and raisins), nuts, spices and seeds.

We have Rice Cookers both with and without Fuzzy Logic and we also have recipe cook books for foods other than rice at http://www.ricecookersmarket.com so stop on by and see for yourself.

  106. How Do You Make a Healthy Snack?

For a person on the go it is very easy to grab junk food as a quick snack or meal. The amount of sodium, fat and preservatives in these foods is shocking. Read the label on “healthy” snacks to see the sugar and chemicals they add to get shelf life on the item. A food dehydrator is a great solution to making healthier snacks for yourself and your family at home

Kids will enjoy picking out different fruits to try in the food dryer. They are fascinated to discover that raisins really come from shriveled up grapes and quickly learn the dried fruit is naturally sweet. Fruit roll-ups and leathers are another hit with kids. Let the kids pick out their favorite mixture and make creative textures and flavors when drying fruit puree. These natural snacks are great for after school and before activities and convenient to pack.

  107. Bread Box / A fresh solution to your bread.

Unless it’s loaded with preservatives, Fresh bread does not maintain its freshness for long. There are many ways people utilize, to try and keep their bread fresh, but most of these will only give an extra day or two, if that. There is one proven way to extend the shelf life of bread, but first let’s look at the options:

The classic way is to use a bread box or bread bin. The old fashioned wooden ones tend to work better than plastic or metal ones do. The plastic and metal ones tend to trap moisture in the air and cause it to condense in the box, actually hastening mold. Another popular method is refrigeration or freezing. Whilst refrigeration can delay molding it will accelerate the process if moisture happens to be trapped inside the plastic bag.

Staleness, happens wherever you keep it. Bread goes stale due to the gluten proteins knitting back together after cooking, making the bread tougher. Bread is only soft where gluten is present; when it is fresh the gluten protein strands are long and stretched. Bread stales or becomes moldy much faster at lower temperatures, which results from a change in the starch fraction of wheat flour involving crystallization, or retro gradation. This is why stale bread can be softened by gentle heating!

Always let freshly baked bread completely cool before storing it. Wrapping it too soon causes condensation to form which is absorbed into the bread, making it soggy and accelerating mold growth.

For longer periods of storage time keep bread in the freezer, first wrap it in aluminum foil and then in an airtight plastic bag. Keep it whole to prevent freezer burn. Frozen bread should be thawed at room temperature.

  108. How To Use a Vacuum Food Sealer

In my opinion, Vacuum Food Sealers are the best thing since sliced bread. Even though some may have a hefty price tag, the money you will save in food cost and car gas savings alone will make up for the initial investment. Food sealers may be used for dry goods, frozen or refrigerated foods all with equal success. Our freezer is worth a fortune in the fall after harvesting the garden, as well as during the rest of the year after we have purchased our 1/4 Black Angus beef and a 1/2 pig, both all sliced up to the perfect cuts and vacuum packed in the freezer. The storage life will dramatically increase when the air has been removed from the product properly and totally sealed and put into the freezer.

Since there are so many different brands and levels of vacuum food sealers, do your homework first and decide which will be the best model for you. They range from just a bag sealer, which only seals the bag without removing air, all the way up to a commercial grade sealer that allows you to vacuum bags without having to wait for the sealer to cool down as much.

Vacuum Food Sealers, compact sealers, commercial sealers, bags and Accessories all can be found at http://www.foodsealershop.com The Food Sealer Shop.

  109. How to Use a Rice Cooker

Most people who know about them or even own one are of the opinion that using rice cookers is a no-brainer. Actually, these devices are so simple to use you almost don’t even need instructions. For the most part, you would be right. Because of its simplicity, one would be hard-pressed to find anybody who has actually written detailed instructions on how to get the most bang-for-your-buck out of one of these devices. What’s even more surprising, most users don’t know that you can make almost any kind of a meal in a rice cooker, without the rice. Yep, that’s right. Try a goulash, potato salad, jambalaya or even a pasta dish. When the water is cooked out, the meal is done, just leave it on warm for additional cooking. Look here for some excellent dishes to make in a Rice Cooker.

Here’s the way a Rice Cooker works. They start by boiling the rice and monitoring the temperature at the same time. Once all of the water has boiled away, the temperature then starts to rise, which in turn tells the rice cooker that the water is gone and to turn off or turn down. What this really means is if you don’t put in enough water and when it boils away, your rice will be under-cooked; or if you use too much water then it will boil longer thus making the rice over-cooked.

What you need to do is come up with the perfect ratio of rice to water. Occasionally you will find a box/bag of rice which has instructions on the back of the package, but a good ratio for most Rice Cookers is: 1 cup rice = 1 cup water, keeping in mind that 1 cup of uncooked rice is really 3/4 cup and the water is 1 cup. When done, this combination should produce about a 2 cup meal.

  110. Steamed Food Diet

When you decide that you want to eat healthy there are many different factors that you’ll want to consider. Even though it is suggested to give up foods which can be bad for you this is not always possible. To help you to benefit from the foods that you love you could learn to cook them differently. A Steamed Food diet will allow you to eat very nutritional foods in a very healthy way. This process is among the healthiest ways to cook food and is very easy to do.

  111. What To Fix For Dinner With A Busy Schedule

Everyone is so on the go with their schedules these days. They want to benefit from quality, healthy, and tasty meals but they can be zapped of their energy at the end of a long work day. Even stay at home moms will find that after performing their daily errands and duties, boxes of processed foods, or takeout sounds like a great idea. Another concern for today’s families are cost. Take out is not only fattening, but it gets very pricey very quickly! To add to this, groceries are double the price that they were even two years ago. Many people have good intentions when they buy food, but because they are tired, the food ends up going bad, or collecting ice crystals in the freezer. Now they’ve wasted food, and wasted food burns up a tremendous amount of money as well.

Because home Vacuum Sealers not only preserve meats, they can make pre-assembled dishes that are portioned, and ready to go. All you have to do is thaw out the vacuum sealed meal, and then cook it. The meal will be as fresh as the day it was sealed. With vacuum sealers, this saves a large amount of time, money, and energy for the cook.

I invite you to visit us today at the Food Sealer Shop http://www.foodsealershop.com and see how it is so easy to save money by vacuum sealing.

  112. I really love my Vacuum Food Sealer. I can’t say enough about owning one and finding new uses for its sealing power. Mostly I use my vacuum sealer for storing food items. I love to be able to seal and freeze our fresh veggies from the garden. There is nothing more gratifying than eating our home grown veggies in the winter months when the garden has long been put to bed. I have become more creative over the years. At first I would only freeze single vegetables in a pouch. Now I store mixes of vegetables for stews, soups, stir fries or just mixes for side dishes. I started out with only a food sealer. It was a single wire unit that sealed the bag closed. I manually squished as much air out of the packages as I could. I didn’t know what I was missing until we visited with some relatives and they had a vacuum sealer they were using with fish. I was very impressed with the sealing power and the freshness that came with vacuuming out all the air.

  115. Someone once told me that Rice Cookers were only for rice. Well whoever told them that didn’t know about all the meals that really can be cooked in a Rice Cooker. I have made a mean tasting Jambalaya, stews and yep, even a potato salad, and I even invented my own Cowboy Goulash all done in a Rice Cooker.

Rice Cookers are actually really neat machines. They will cook for 30 to 45 minutes then automatically turn itself down to the warm cycle where it just sits and waits for you to dig in and eat. Sometimes there is some turning of the food to do but that depends on the type of dinner you’re making. Take Rice Cooker Apple Rice Pudding for example. Put some of the ingredients in and let it cook till the warm cycle, then add some more ingredients, stir and let sit for awhile. Rice Cooker Potato Salad, put it in and cook it, that’s it.

  116. Here’s How to Save Money on Left-Overs With A Vacuum Food Sealer

Vacuum Food Sealers can save food by keeping it fresh up to 5 times longer! In fact, you can save thousands of dollars a year on wasted food alone. For example: If you purchased $4845.00 at the super market or $2760.00 at a warehouse club a year, you could realize a potential savings of 43% or about $2080.00 a year* (or $175.00 a month) just by vacuum sealing your food left-overs. Not to mention, think of the gas savings by not traveling so much to the grocery store all the time.

Simply put, AIR is the enemy of food, as well as collectibles and documents. The oxidation caused by air robs food of its fresh taste and causes collectibles to tarnish and documents to fall apart with age. By using a Vacuum Food Sealer you can realize dollar savings or memory savings.

I just got home from work and just couldn’t figure out what I wanted to eat for dinner. So I looked in the refrigerator and I had some corn on the cob, carrots, broccoli, squash and some salmon filets but yet I didn’t feel like a long drawn out time of cooking. I wanted to hit the couch, put my feet up and just rest for awhile watching TV.

Then I realized that I had a Deni Stainless Steel Food Steamer in the cupboard. Got that thing out and separated the vegetables into the bottom two tiers and put the salmon in the top tier. Added a little water to the steamer, plugged it in and in about 30 minutes I had dinner ready. 119. How does ionized water affect sports professionals?

In an extremely positive way, as you might expect. Blood oxygen levels will rise varying amounts with regular use of strong Ionized Water. This increases stamina, endurance and provides the muscles tissue and organs with high amounts of oxygen which the human body often lacks, even in athletes because of inadequate diets. If Professional and Amateur sports were to ever discover this, it would eventually become one of the most established benefits to athletes everywhere. That will happen, but acceptance of Ionized Water will take time.

Why should I buy a water ionizer?

The Health Benefits of Ionized Water are numerous as stated above. It is best to have it on hand because the fresher it is, the better it is.
To have ionized Acidic Water on hand 24 hours a day is worth the price of the Ionizer alone. Once you have begun to use it and take advantage of its incredible properties, you will know that you have made the right decision to purchase one.

  128. WHY PAY FOR MORE THAN YOU NEED?

The latest and greatest in anything has its advantages, but there is always a price to go with it. Old fashioned is just that nowadays —- old fashioned, but sometimes that’s all you need. The difference in digital and spring scales is a perfect example. Clearly, there are times when you need the accuracy of a digital scale. Every tenth of a pound is important. But often, you just need to weigh something easily with no fuss, no muss. You weigh your fruits and vegetables in supermarkets using these scales all the time. If this suits you, then a spring scale that does not even require batteries may be best. Take a look at the Mercado Scale which comes in 3 different capacities and has a choice of either a stainless steel bowl or a plate as a weighing platform to measure your foods. The dial cover is shatterproof and also has a stainless steel ring. Cleanup is fast and easy. 130. SELLING YOUR OLD JEWELRY?

Are you selling gold, silver, precious stones? If you are selling on Ebay, how do you know how much to charge? If you are selling to a jeweler, how do you know if you’re getting a fair deal? You can do a search for other similar items on the internet, but unless you can hold it in your hand and examine it carefully, how does it truly compare to yours? Besides, who is to say that another seller is pricing their item correctly? One way is to be sure that you have an accurate weight of your precious metal, diamonds or other precious stones. There are scales available that will measure in tenths of a gram, pennyweights or even karats. These scales come in different variations. The best scale for accuracy is the L-Series High Precision Scale. If you prefer a handheld scale, you may consider the Liberta Digital Pocket Scale. Either would be particularly useful in helping you determine the true value of your valuables. Don’t let someone take advantage of you. Be sure to get your fair price. To see all your options, visit http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com for the right scale for you.

  131. THE PERFECT SCALE FOR BAKERS
The baker needs to know how much things weigh in pounds or ounces, but also needs to know the number of tablespoons or cups. The only scale that can do this is the Pana Scale. It will accurately measure in 1/8 cup, ½ tablespoon, .1 ounce or 1 gram.

What’s best for the baker is that you can measure and mix all the ingredients in just one bowl, greatly reducing cleanup. Here’s how it works. Place a bowl on the scale and press the Tare button which sets the scale back to zero. This will eliminate the weight of the bowl. You can then add your first ingredient and stop when the scale hits the weight or volume you want. Then press the tare button again to reset it back to zero and add your second ingredient. You can repeat this until all your ingredients are in one bowl. How easy is that? To see other great scales, please visit http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com.

  132. THE PERFECT SCALE FOR A DIABETIC
Watching the nutritional content of every item a diabetic eats is so essential to their good health. Educational guessing may be what some do, but why guess at all? The Cesto Scale is perfect for a diabetic’s needs. The scale is pre-programmed for 999 foods and comes with a book containing the codes for each of these foods. Just place the food on the scale, enter its code and the user-friendly touch glass will display the item’s weight, calories, sodium, protein, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol and fiber content.

It has so many other great features, too. The Tare Feature lets you reset the scale back to zero, so when using a container, the scale can subtract the containers weight to obtain the true weight of only its contents. The scale will automatically turn off when it is not used for a set time feature ensures long battery life. It is so easy to clean the glass weighing platform. What’s best is that it is a slim and portable. You can take it wherever you go, including to a restaurant. To see other great scales, please visit http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com.

  133. IS YOUR WEIGHT GAIN ACTUALLY WATER?

Dr. Susan Lark is a well-renowned nutritionist who has her own broadcast show and writes for several magazines and on the web. She recently talked about the effects of water weight and on April 27, 2010 she wrote in her article that “fluid, or water, retention does factor in your overall weight.” She continues to say “ . . . water takes up more space than fat—making you look bigger!” But how do you know for sure? In order for you to lose that weight, it is very important to know what is contributing to it. The best solution is to weigh yourself using a scale that will differentiate between body fat and water weight. There are several choices of scales that you can view at http://www.digitalscalesatdiscountprices.com that have this wonderful feature.

This month is a great time to buy a scale at http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com. A 10% discount is available until the end of May. Just enter the discount code SPRING2010 at checkout.

  134. WHY BOTHER TO WEIGH YOURSELF IF YOU CAN’T SEE THE NUMBER?

Maybe you really don’t want to know what you weigh, but if you are bothering to step onto that loathsome scale, you might as well know the truth. The problem is that you take off your glasses before you step on that scale. Don’t we all strip ourselves down to an absolute minimum to keep that “number” as low as possible? Most scales have a hold feature that continues to display the weight for a few seconds, so that you can step off and look at it. Nice feature but the display is too small to see and you certainly don’t want someone else to look at it to tell you what you weigh! Don’t despair or get frustrated. Get a scale that has both the Hold Feature and an Extra Large display. Check out the Extra Large Display Bathroom Scale. It also has a capacity of up to 440 lbs. No more excuses for not knowing your weight. To see other scales that have lots of convenient features, please visit http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com.

  135. A DIGITAL SCALE AMONG YOUR COOKBOOKS?

Imagine having a digital scale that is so slim and sleek that it is sized like a thin book. Imagine no more. It truly exists. Take a look at the Escali Tabla scale. This ultra slim digital scale will weigh solids and liquids in pounds, ounces, grams, liters or milliliters up to 11 lbs or 5,000 grams. It has the tare feature that will allow you to put a bowl, plate or any other item on the scale and then set it to zero so that you get the true net weight of the food or item. Its automatic shut-off will lengthen the life of the battery, but best of all is its stainless steel shell that will allow for very easy cleanup. When done, just put it back on the shelf with your books until the next time it is needed. Cool!!! For other well-designed scales, please visit http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com.

  136. DON’T PAY PROFESSIONAL PRICES FOR A PROFESSIONAL SCALE

There are many reasons for people to buy a scale. They are not just used in the bathroom or kitchen. If your needs are for a professional scale, the price seems to rise. Is this because companies feel that a professional scale is purchased as a tax deductible expense? Whether or not this is the case, it should not dictate a higher price. Even scales that are NSF certified do not have to cost so much more. To find professional scales that meet many different needs without the high price tags, check out the products offered at http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com.

  138. ARE SOME KITCHEN SCALES JUST TOO COMPLICATED?

Sometimes we need a scale that can weigh solids or liquids with no fuss or muss. Ease of use and easy cleanup are the most essential features. How about adding in the convenience of having a scale that has its own bowl so that you can add your ingredients one at a time and then mix them together in the same container? Pour the mixture into your baking dish and toss your measuring bowl right into your dishwasher. Sounds just right for you? Check out the Estillo Spring Scale to provide all this convenience. It’s “all the buzz” and in the news each and every day. Our children are getting fatter and fatter. Too many of our children are obese, leading to health problems now and in the future. Parents can do their best to buy healthy foods and encourage reduced fat eating, but the quantity of what one eats has a lot to do with weight gain. Is your child eating more than he or she should? Make your child aware of portion control. How? Be sure to keep a scale on your kitchen counter. Have your child weigh what he or she eats. For instance, measure that cereal before it is poured into a bowl. An inexpensive scale can teach your child a lot, especially if you set the example by doing the same. One of the most popular and best selling scales is the Primo Digital Scale. This scale comes in a variety of colors to match any kitchen décor. Make it a part of your family’s everyday life. 140. HOW MANY CUPS, BOWLS AND UTENSILS DO YOU HAVE TO CLEAN UP AFTER BAKING?

Your recipe calls for a couple of eggs, 2/3 cup all-purpose flour, 1/8 cup of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, ½ cup of milk, etc. You measure each one separately and dump into a bowl. An easier, cleaner and more efficient way is to get a digital scale that has the tare feature. This allows you to press one button to set the scale to zero. So you put a bowl on the scale (some come with one already), set the tare feature to zero, and then add your first ingredient. Against press one button to set it to zero and add the next ingredient. Repeat until all ingredients are in one bowl. Mix in the same bowl and put into the baking tray. How easy is that? You can buy an inexpensive digital scale that will suit many purposes besides baking. Check out http://www.DigitalScalesAtDiscountPrices.com for a nice variety.

  161. Going Green with Solar Power
Converting your home to solar power is easier than ever before. In this age of information and technology you can get all the help you need in a few clicks. Before getting started however it is helpful to have a basic understanding of electrical terminology. Simply put electricity can be thought of as a flow of electrons (both positive and negative) or amperage (amp) through a copper wire under electrical pressure or voltage. The resistance that is experienced to the voltage flow which uses the power is watts. Electric power is measured in watts. The number of watts recorded on the light bulb you purchase for your lamps etc… is the number of watts used per hour. A kilowatt hour is equal to 1000 watt hours. It is kilowatt hours that you are billed for on your monthly electric bill. Most appliances are rated by how many watts or amps they utilize when they are turned on. To determine how much energy an appliance will use every day, you need to multiply the wattage by the number of hours you use it each day. In order to determine how much it will cost to put solar power in your home it is important that you first get an idea of how much power or wattage you use in an average day. You may obtain a partial list of appliances and average watt usage by emailing the author at info@hallenergysolutions.com.

  162. Solar power: Part One of Four
Giving your home the green treatment is good for your environment and your pocketbook. In this time of concern over cost efficiency and making every dollar count. Saving energy and making your home as efficient as possible is a win win! Making sense of every product on the market and what makes sense for you is the tough chore. If you live in an environment that is sunny much of the year Soalr Power is what you need to consider. There are basically two types. One is grid dependent and the other is grid free. If you live in a remote area and do not what to pay for the cost of having expensive power lines brought in off grid is what you need. If you are in the city or outskirts where grid power is available to you take advantage of it and utilize the grid to work to your advantage. You will next have to decide how much power is neccesary to run your home as their are different solar panels designed to convey different wattages of electrical power.

  164. Worried about pathogens in your drinking water?

Micro-organisms naturally exist on all surfaces exposed to air, including water. Many of these microbes of bacteria referred to as pathogens, have the potential to cause disease. In order to destroy harmful pathogens, water must be disinfected. One process that does not use chemicals is an ultraviolet (UV) water disinfection system. UV disinfection is a highly effective and acceptable means of disinfecting water.

UV water purification can be added to drinking water treatment systems such as a reverse osmosis water filter unit. You can learn more about ultraviolet light drinking water filter treatment systems at http://www.superiorwatersupplies.com. Remember - your drinking water system needs the filters and/or bulb changed on a routine basis, otherwise you are defeating the purpose of having clean drinking water for you and your family.

  165. How Clean is Your Drinking Water?

This was the question Asked in the Sunday’s newspaper “Parade” section, January 18, 2009. Basically, it is about “keeping pollutants out of our drinking water in the first place…we don’t even know which treatments will work making it even more important to keep our water clean from the beginning.” Lynn Thorp of Clean Water Action an environmental advocacy group.

Most regional drinking water treatment systems do a good job, but let’s face it between the time that a system realizes that there is a problem your water has already been sent out or you may have not heard you needed to boil your water for a day or two later.

And what about the chlorine or chloramine smell… yes, it prevents epidemics and we don’t have the typhoid fever and cholera outbreaks of the past, but it is still a chemical that is not pleasant to drink.

You can add that extra element of security and feel more in control of your water quality for you and your family. A certified water filter system in your home, whether it is distilled water, from the water distillation machines, reverse osmosis units that filter the water through carbon filters and a membrane or if you have high quality water from a regional system you may want to opt for just a carbon unit to take out that chlorine smell. Even a shower head filter can make your hair and skin softer. Check out http://www.SuperiorWaterSupplies.com for some special deals on systems that are shipped free.
