THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN THE WORLD

Everyone has different tastes in beauty, especially in women, but one thing is certain and that is that the women depicted in the paintings created by Pino Daeni are among the most beautiful. Pino, who first became known for his famous seductive book illustrations that made the male model, Fabio, a household name, also produced sensuous images of women in different roles. Some of his women are viewed as loving mothers with their children; others are alluring and seductive women that cannot be resisted, and others are sophisticated women of class. All of his women share one thing in common and that is that they are depicted in a very loving atmosphere, filled with warmth and comfort.

His paintings have another very important aspect in common. Any one of them would add that same warmth and loving feeling to any room of your home. You can find a painting of Pino’s that would be suitable for your living room, bedroom, or even a child’s room. No matter which of his works of fine art are chosen to add to your wall art, it would add a décor to your home that anyone would notice.

You can find a large selection of Pino’s works of art at http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/page/pino. Many of the pieces come professionally and decoratively framed and ready to hang on a wall of your beautiful home. Each piece is very reasonably priced and the shipping is free. Visit our online art gallery to see Pino’s fine art at our discount prices. You will fall in love immediately.

FINE ART CONTINUES TO BREAK RECORDS

Week after week, famous works of art continue to sell for enormous prices at auction. It is not just the most expensive or well-known works of art that are being purchased. Fine art is a favorite or many collectors for several reasons. First, the value of fine art has continued to rise, making an investment in a painting or sculpture by a famous artist to be profitable. Second, fine art will add a class and elegance to the wall art in a person’s home or office. Third, fine art is something that is usually purchased for its beauty, allowing the purchaser to enjoy his or her investment every day.

Although these record-breaking sales are outside of the realm of virtually everyone, the purchase of a painting, sculpture or other work of fine art is a reality for the average person. You can have an original or limited edition giclee, watercolor, oil painting or other artwork created by a famous artist in your home or office for a very reasonable price. Decorate your home with artwork that you love and can admire hanging on your wall or sitting on a mantle of your home or office.

Our online gallery of fine art offers a variety of wall art and sculptures, as well as beautiful, decorative pedestals that would add to the décor of your home or office.
WORLD RECORD BROKEN FOR A WORK OF ART

How much would you pay for a work of art? The answer to that question certainly varies from person to person. If you are among the richest people in the world, you could afford any fine art that pleases your tastes for any price at all. In fact, a world record was broken sometime in 2011 when more than $250 million was paid for the famous Cezanne painting, "The Card Players", in a private sale. There are five versions of this painting. It was purchased by the royal family of Qatar, a country on the border of Saudi Arabia.

As impressive as this is, it is well beyond the imagination of virtually anyone else. This certainly does not mean that the average person cannot collect a beautiful work of fine art by a famous artist. Many people add unique paintings, giclees, lithographs or sculptures to their home’s décor without spending the amount of money that only the richest can afford. By adding a colorful floral, landscape, romantic image or portrait to your wall art will enhance the beauty of your living room, bedroom, child’s room or office. You may decide to add a lovely, unique sculpture to a mantelpiece or a decorative pedestal in your home that can be admired from all directions.

There are a couple of very important things to remember when purchasing a piece of fine art. First, there are a variety of works of art in all price ranges, so you are not limited to finding a beautiful painting or sculpture that is beyond your price range. Secondly, the variety of fine art is so substantial that you should have no problem finding that perfect watercolor, oil painting, acrylic painting, etching or heliogravure or any other type of fine art that you would most enjoy in your home or office.

Where can you find a unique selection of fine art that is affordable? Visit www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com and enjoy browsing through the incredibly beautiful works of art by many famous artists. Many of these pieces are already decoratively framed and ready to hang, adding to your wall art. The price is even more attractive since the artwork is shipped free of charge. Join the many art lovers who frequent our online gallery to find valuable fine art at very discounted prices to add to the décor of your home or office.

Laser Engraving—Health Hazards?

Laser engraving produces so many beautiful designs on many things. And tons of people are going into the ‘engraving’ business because it’s fun, creative, and usually creates good revenues. More and more engravers, however, are finding out that the particles and chemical fumes generated from laser engraving are very harmful, even disease-causing.

As a laser ‘cuts’ a piece of metal, plastic, or other material, it burns and disintegrates to remove material. The waste material that is produced is in the form of particles and chemical vapors. The particles are very small, measured in microns, are small enough to be inhaled into the lungs, and
depending on the material, can cause serious side effects. Ceramics, glass, and metal particles are sharp and irritate the respiratory tract, eyes, nose, skin, etc.

Metals like chromium and nickel that create carcinogenic (cancer-causing) fumes when burned / cut with a laser. When plastics, rubber, and powder coated materials are ‘lasered’, they produce volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Synthetic polymers or plastics like polyethylene, polycarbonate, polypropylene, as well as synthetic rubber, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene, phosgene create another set of problems. When polyethylene is ‘lasered’ or engraved, for example, it produces formaldehyde, a noxious VOC known to cause cancer, and asthma and allergy attacks. Rubber releases benzene, an even stronger VOC proven to cause anemia, low white blood cell count, and cancer.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that is used to make a signs, figurines, flooring and other products emits extremely toxic hydrogen chloride acid gas, dioxin, ethylene dichloride and vinyl chloride ALL at the same time--which is a very bad situation if you’re breathing these fumes! Not only do these PVC vapors / particles cause cancer, they can also cause neurological damage, as well as reproductive and immune system damage. Phosgene, originally designed for military purposes as a poison in the First World War, is used in many plastics--and when this material is used for engraving, the resulting fumes have been found to destroy lung tissue!

Wow! Lots of dangerous stuff with laser engraving! Well, enough about the bad news. The GOOD news is that these particles and chemicals can easily be removed, with the right equipment. One very good unit for laser engraving is the <a href="http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/electrocorp-rsu-12-cc-air-cleaner.html">RSU 12 air purifier.</a> This unit can be placed near the table where you work to immediate remove pollutants before you breathe them. Another very good air cleaner for project areas is the <a href="http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/aller-air-6000-d-vocarb-air-cleaner.html">Aller Air 6000 Vocarb </a>, which features a full 28 pounds of activated carbon to designed to remove harmful chemicals and VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) present in paints and solvents, plus a medical-grade HEPA filter. Some people use one of each unit—one to capture particles / vapors at the source, and another to remove any remaining pollutants from the room. As you can see, the pollutants associated with laser engraving are very harmful to your health, so you can’t be too careful! If you're already using an Electrocorp air purifier, we have all the filters, gaskets, inserts, etc.--for optimum safety, filters for this application do need to be changed every 3-5 years, depending on use.

As you can see, the pollutants associated with laser engraving are very harmful to your health, so you can’t be too careful! If you’re already using an Electrocorp air purifier, we have all the filters, gaskets, inserts, etc.–for optimum safety, filters for this application do need to be changed every 3-5 years, depending on use.

Arts and Crafts: Is an Air Purifier Really Necessary?

We really don’t think about clean air when we’re doing art and craft projects. And sometimes, if it’s something where no chemicals, paints, varnishes are used, or there are no little particles released into the air from grinding, polishing, etc, there’s really no need. There are times, however, where harmful chemicals / particles are present—and if these projects are done on a regular basis, they do present a health hazard.

Pretty much any art or craft project that involves the use of paints, fixatives, sealants, varnishes or solvents is going to release these airborne fumes or vapors into the air, both while they are being used and from slow container leakage. A lot of varnishes and solvents have petroleum-based elements and other chemicals that have been proven to cause cancer, nervous system disorders, brain disorders and more.
And if the project involves any grinding or polishing, or even dusty materials, there are going to be particles released into the air that aren’t good for us. Many times these tiny particles, such as from metal or ceramic grinding or polishing, are very sharp and actually can imbed themselves in the lining of the airway, in the lungs, and make tiny cuts in the tissue, leading to all sorts of irritation, infections, and sometimes lung disease. Just read the labels on the materials you use—in most cases, there are warnings. Even if you're just an art collector, often those pieces of art bring dust and residues that become airborne--and if those pollutants aren't captured, we breathe them.

No one wants to have health issues from the art or craft projects they love. And, if it’s a public place where the projects are being done or you have employees, students, etc, there are actual OSHA laws requiring some kind of ventilation or capturing system to be in place—if they are not in place, there are often fines and citations issued! Ouch!

Getting and keeping clean air is fairly simple, however. First, make sure you have ventilation. Second, if you use solvents and paints, don’t store them in the same place that you do your projects, i.e. in the garage. The fumes build up over time and if you do those projects where the chemicals are stored, you’re getting a concentrated dose--store paints and chemicals in a shed, away from your workspace. Third, consider getting an air purifier. There are several that are capable of effectively removing the harmful particles and chemicals associated with most arts and craft projects.

One very good source-capture unit is the <a href="http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/electrocorp-5000-pro-exec-air-purifier.html">Electrocorp 5000 Pro Exec</a> . This unit can be placed near the table where you work to immediate remove pollutants before you breathe them. Another very good air cleaner for projects is the <a href="http://www.airpurifiersandcleaners.com/aller-air-6000-d-vocarb-air-cleaner.html">Aller Air 6000 Vocarb </a>, which features a full 28 pounds of activated carbon to designed to remove harmful chemicals and VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) present in paints and solvents, plus a medical-grade HEPA filter.

SCULPTURES AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO WALL ART

Have you thought about adding some décor to your home or office? There are many alternatives to decorating that will add beauty to your living room, bedroom or office. Most people will change the look of their walls by adding paintings or other wall art. This is a great way to add new décor, but there have you ever considered other beautiful art, besides paintings? Why not be bold and add artwork to the middle of the room itself? Consider purchasing a beautiful and unusual sculpture by a famous artist that will add dimension to your home’s décor, as well as beauty. The sculpture can be placed on an elegant table or stand and placed in a strategic place in your home or office. Admire the sculpture from all angles, unlike wall art.

There are several sculptures by Renoir and Erte that are available at http://www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. There are also beautiful cherry wood and marble pedestals to show off your sculpture that will add to your home furnishings and décor. The greatest advantage to purchasing from our online gallery is that the prices are very reasonable for these famous works of art and shipping is free. Come by and take a look at all the other beautiful works of art from famous artists that are available to any art collector.

ARE OIL PAINTINGS GOING AWAY?

There are many techniques and different types of media that an artist can use when creating a painting. Each medium has its advantages and disadvantages and each offers a different look to the painting. Some media are used less and less frequently. This is especially true of oils.

So why is it so rare to find an original oil painting today? The may be several reasons. First, it takes a very long time to create an oil painting. The oil must be applied in layers very carefully in order to prevent cracking or peeling. Secondly, oil paint remains wet longer than many other types of artists' materials. Since oil paint dries by oxidation, it usually takes about two weeks to dry to the touch, however, it is not completely dry enough to apply vanish for another six months to a year. This delay in finalizing an oil painting so that it can be sold or put on display means that the artist produces far fewer pieces than an artist who uses another media type.

These facts make oil paintings more valuable than other painting types. How wonderful would it be to own an original oil painting to hang as wall art in your home or office. What beauty it would add to the décor of your home or office! The best part is that you can purchase an original oil painting from famous artists, such as Borelli, Valla or Linton, at http://www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. This online gallery will even ship the oil painting to you for no cost. Take a look at all the selections available to you to decorate your home and enjoy the fact that you are among the few that own an original oil painting.

Painting Drums

Walk through any fabric/craft/artist supply store and you will find hundreds of ways to express yourself. Scrap-booking, knitting, sewing, quilting, pen and ink, pastels, beading, and woodworking are but a few of the items available with which to create. Many remarkable and truly creative works of art are produced every day by regular folks. Perhaps you’re looking for something new, something different, something really unique, something that reflects your inner spirit.

Here’s an idea with a bonus - you can paint a hand drum and then make music with it! Many artists today are creating incredibly beautiful as well as functional art by using a frame drum as a canvas. You may know them as Native American pow wow drums, or Bodhran if you are Irish. Most cultures have some sort of frame drum. Americans are probably most familiar with tambourines, a simple hand drum with jingles attached around the sides.

The painting for your frame drum can be as simple as a geometric shape, or as complex as an airbrushed masterpiece. You can use acrylics, oils, pen and ink, or you can create your own method of coloring. Many people use these painted drums as decorations as well as a way to participate in drums circles or ceremonies.

Here at our online drum shop, we offer a variety of authentic Native American Indian hand drums for sale that are of the highest quality, reflecting a commitment to excellence in the production of authentic frame and pow wow drums. Our drums are made by Native American artisans in the Pacific Northwest, who have been perfecting their craft for over fifty years. The frames are covered with deer, elk, bison, moose or horse hides that have been prepared to give the strength and resonance that a well-made ceremonial drum provides. We also offer hand-made rawhide rattles and drumsticks at sale prices.

Our goal is to provide you with an outstanding drumming experience. We take great pride in offering the best sale prices on the highest quality authentic <a href="http://www.djembedrumsonline.com/native-american-drums">Native American hand drums</a>, as well as a commitment to your satisfaction. Choose a beautifully hand-crafted <a href="http://www.djembedrumsonline.com/product/APW-24">Native American pow wow drum</a> to use as your next canvas, and let your spirit shine through!

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN

Everyone is familiar with the phrase “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” This is even more evident by the popularity of artists’ image of women in paintings. Women have been depicted so differently during various periods of time that you may even be able to identify the era by the artist’s painting of women. One thing that is certain, however, is that most artists use women as the subject of their paintings at some point in their career.

What constitutes beauty in a woman to you? Whatever that is, it is often reflected in the artwork that you may choose to hang in your home or office. Although adding to the décor of your home or office is what might be important, the selection of wall art is very subjective. In choosing the painting of a woman, there are so many variances --- each with its own beauty. For instance, you may find the delicacy of the women in Edna Hibel's <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/EH-JB-001">Jimmy Buddha</a>, although the name given to this beauty is oddly strange. Perhaps Picasso’s style is more to your liking as reflected in <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/PP-PDF-001">Portrait de Femme</a>. Another artist who loves to paint women is Pino Daeni. He has earned the attention of the art world with his ability to capture the image of gorgeous women, as in his painting, <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/PD-A-001">Angelica</a>. Looking at this painting of Angelica will make you fall in love every time you stare at her beauty.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to have one of these beautiful paintings as a part of your wall art? Just think of the admiration and conversation it will promote within your home. As in everything else in your home’s decor, your selection will be a reflection of your own tastes. The paintings mentioned above are just three of the many different choices you would fine at http://www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. Stop by and visit our web site for wonderful works of art at very affordable prices. We would love to have your company!

WHAT DOES SPRINGTIME MEAN TO YOU?

Do you suddenly feel more alive? Are you feeling rejuvenated? Do you feel uplifted and energetic? If so, you are not alone by any means. Most people look forward to Spring more than any other season of the year. It is the time of year that most people will do Spring cleaning, buy new things, and redecorate their homes.

One way in which you can completely change the décor of your living room, bedroom, children’s room or office is to add beautiful wall art or to fill empty spaces with sculptures that everyone can admire. Tastes vary, so you may select a landscape, floral painting, abstract, or romantic image. The styles of paintings and sculptures also vary so that you can choose whatever suits your home’s present décor the best. Your taste in art may lean toward art deco, surrealism, cubism, impressionism, modern art, contemporary art, black and white or colorful art. Adding decorative accents to the décor of your home or office, created by the selection of your favorite artist is fun, while giving you a valuable investment. As the owner of a famous, original or unique landscape, floral, abstract or romantic scene, you will have made an investment in an exquisite, tangible asset that can enhance the décor and beauty of your home or office while appreciating in value over time.

You can find a wide variety of affordable paintings, sculptures and even decorative pedestals at www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. Many of the paintings come with an exquisite decorative frame that is included in the sale price. An added bonus is that the artwork is shipped for free. What better way to redecorate your home than to add unique or unusual artwork that suits your taste to your lovely home?

PABLO PICASSO, THE CUBISM PAINTER

Virtually everyone is familiar with the fact that Pablo Picasso is one of the greatest artists of all time. This incredibly talented artist went through several “periods” of style in his painting. Picasso is well known for his Blue Period in which his art was done in muted tones of blue and blue-green. He then progressed to the Rose Period where shades of rose, pink and orange were added to his fine art paintings. However, Pablo Picasso is most famously known for his Cubism style of painting.

Some of his paintings, done in cubism, are more well-known than others. One of his most famous cubist series of paintings uses Dora Maar as his model. Dora Maar is best known as a lover and muse of Picasso. An example of a Dora Maar fine art painting is <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/PP-DMS-001">"Dora Maar Seated".</a> Amazingly, this painting is a limited edition glicee that depicts Dora Maar’s face in both profile and full face. Another famous Picasso fine art painting is one of five nude prostitutes which make up his cubist painting entitled Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon). Picasso then took each of these brothel figures and created separate fine art paintings of each. One such example of his cubism using one of these characters is entitled <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/PP-SMD-001">"Study for Mademoiselles D'Avignon".</a> This artwork is another limited edition giclee.

Both of these fine art giclees are available at www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com for a very reasonable price. They are beautifully framed works of fine art that come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Imagine having one of Pablo Picasso’s cubist paintings, ready to hang in your home to admire for the rest of your life.

The Beatles Will Never Die

There are many famous artists of all genres that will live on and on for generations, however, some stand out far more than others. Certainly, no one will contest the notion that The Beatles are among that infamous group of artists that will be forever remembered. This love for The Beatles has created a market for companies to keep these artists alive by creating all types of memorabilia that the public might want. Some are more valuable than others. Are you among those who fell in love with The Beatles and would like to remember them for all time?

One way in which you might be able to enjoy having The Beatles in your home is by owning a limited edition sericel of these artists. The DenniLu Company authorized the creation of a series of sericels based on the Saturday morning cartoon series on The Beatles. These limited edition sericels were created with a laser background. Putting a Beatles sericel into a frame and giving it a special place to hang on a wall of your home would give you, and anyone who has the pleasure of seeing it, much enjoyment. One such sericel of The Beatles can be found at http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/O-TBS-001. This artwork has the official DenniLu stamped seal. There are only 500 pieces of this limited edition sericel which comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The best advantage is that this sericel is very reasonable in price.

What a wonderful way to decorate your home with a sericel that will become a conversation piece, while giving you a work of art that commemorates one of the most famous and influential musical artist groups in many generations.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO BUY FINE ART?

You are looking for a piece of fine art that you will love; that will be cherished; that will be admired by others, but you are not sure of what you want. Going from gallery to gallery may be fun, but it is time-consuming and fine art galleries will charge premium prices. You might try going to an auction --- whether in person or online. Once again, this may be fun but can also be stressful. You will be competing with other people who drive up the price of the fine art. In addition, if you win the bid, you will also have to pay a buyer’s premium which adds about 15% to the final price of the work of art, tax on the purchase and shipping costs, if you cannot take it with you.

There is a better and less expensive way to enjoy shopping for that special artwork. Consider shopping for your fine art online. You can sit at leisure in your home. Do your search without competition or outside stresses. You can also save on the high cost of gas. What more advantages? Visit www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com to get great value with no additional buyer’s premium added. There is also no sales tax (except to residents of Nevada) and the biggest bonus is that there is free shipping on all orders. Have fun, great a great deal, and most importantly, enjoy your purchase for a lifetime.

A New Kind of Canvas

Walk through any craft/artist supply store and you will find hundreds of ways to express yourself. Tee-shirts, hats, scrap-booking, sewing projects, decoupage, needlework, beads, canvas, paints, markers, and stamps are but a few of the items available to make your artistic statement with. Many remarkable and truly creative works of art are produced every day by regular folks. Perhaps you’ve already explored many of these techniques.

Perhaps you’re looking for something new, something different, something really unique, something that reflects your inner spirit. Something that will enhance any setting.

Choose a beautifully hand-crafted <a href="http://www.djembedrumsonline.com/native-american-drums">Native American pow wow drum</a> to use as your next canvas, and let your spirit shine through!

Today many people are art collectors. They may have a favorite artist and collect several of his/her works. Or, perhaps they have a favorite theme and purchase works of that genre. If their interests are eclectic,, they will be interested in a variety of works, large and small, on many themes.

Landscape oil paintings are always an ideal choice because the out of doors is such a large part of our lives. It is in the out of doors that we spend a great deal of our leisure time. And the colors of oil paintings remain strong and vivid for a very long time.

At Mary’s Art, Inc. we have a large variety of original hand painted <a href="http://www.murphyartstudio.com/product/1184">oil paintings</a> on canvas. These inexpensive, colorful paintings were created en plein air (French for “open air”) to capture the feelings and emotions of nature and bring them to you for your enjoyment. They are modern in style, somewhat abstract, and with expressionism overtones. Please visit http://www.murphyartstudio.com and find paintings just right for your home.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF PURCHASING ART ONLINE

Many people have never considered purchasing a piece of fine art online. Yet, it is done every day by so many others. What advantages do the online purchasers get? First, just like all other items, you can do the research from your home without the need to travel from place to place. Unlike the purchase of an electronics device or even a car, there are not nearly as many retail art dealers that may be near you. Besides, purchasing art at retail prices can be very expensive. You can certainly consider going to auctions to find that unusual piece that you are seeking, but will it be there? Besides, auctioneers charge a buyer’s premium ranging from 10% to 25% of the purchase price. Both the retail art dealer and the auctioneer will also charge you sales tax and, unless you are willing to cart the artwork off yourself, there are steep shipping and handling charges.

Save lots of time and lots of money by shopping at http://www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. In addition to checking out each piece of artwork in the comfort of your home with no pressure from a sales person, the price listed is the price you pay. There is no added sales tax (except for residents of Nevada) and we pay the shipping. Do you need more reasons to buy from us? Most of the pieces we sell are already professionally framed --- many to museum standards. This alone is well worth the price of the fine art. These pieces are genuine and most are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Isn’t it worth just taking a peek at what is available? You may even find “that unusual something” that you have been searching for.

PICASSO ART BREAKS RECORD

Last May, 2010 a new record was set for the sale of a work of art by Pablo Picasso at a Christie’s auction in New York City. One of his 1932 paintings entitled “Nu au Plateau de Sculpteur (Nude, Green Leaves and Bust)” sold for $106.5 Million. WOW! That is a price that very few can pay. Does that mean that all Picasso’s are unaffordable? The answer is “Absolutely not.” There are many Picasso artworks that fit into the budget of the average citizen, who can fully enjoy this incredible artist’s masterpieces. In fact, one can purchase some of his works of art already framed, making the price an even better deal. Take a look at the pieces at http://www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com/page/Picasso for a great selection of his work. It’s a great place to find some incredible deals and the shipping is FREE, too.

THE MARKET FOR FINE ART IS BACK!!

There have been several recent write-ups, including a New York Times article entitled “Blue Skies and Blue-Chip Sales at Art Basel Miami” by Kate Taylor, which describes the boom in the sale of fine art. The rebound in sales took place in various galleries in Florida, however, this increase in activity has been taking place throughout the world. There could be many reasons for this resurgence.

First, the economy seems to be improving so people are willing to spend money. Secondly, fine art has always been considered to be a great investment. The problem is that galleries charge a premium for the purchase as well as shipping costs, unless you are able to carry it with you. You must also spend your time and money traveling to the galleries. If you would like to reduce these expenses greatly, you might consider purchasing fine art online. One such site that sells fine at a prices much lower than retail is www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. Please visit and see if there is something that you would love in your home or office.

A TRIBUTE TO PINO

There are many very famous artists whose names are instantly recognizable, however, Pino Daeni is one that may be more recognizable by his elegantly sensuous artworks. Pino, who died May 25, 2010, created sensitive, elegant and emotionally charged works of art for almost 40 years. He was the master of creating images for the covers of romance novels, but also eliciting feelings of softness, love for life and warmth of family in his paintings. Since his death, the value of his art has increased in value steadily. In fact, the first exhibit of his work will take place in his Florida home in November, 2011.

To view a couple of Pino’s fine pieces, you may visit www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com and select Pino Daeni from the list of Artists on the left.

WHY INVEST IN FINE ART?

Did you know that fine art is one of the vehicles that many people use as an investment? In fact, artwork can increase in value far more than stocks. There have been recent articles discussing the fact that the purchase of fine art is once again on the rise. There are two things to keep in mind, however. First and foremost, buy what you like. If you are going to purchase a painting or sculpture that will sit in your home or office, you will want to enjoy looking at it each day. Secondly, depending on its price, be sure to purchase something that is authentic. A Certificate of Authenticity should accompany your artwork, particularly if you plan on selling it for a profit in the future. For many great choices of beautiful pieces in all price ranges, please visit our web site at www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT OIL PAINTING IN FINE ART?

Although oil is probably one of the most familiar media used, few truly know or understand what is involved in creating an oil painting. It is a process which became popular in the 15th Century, although it had started several centuries earlier. Many different types of oils have been used such as linseed, poppyseed, walnut and safflower oil. Each oil has different properties and drying times, thus producing different results.

The artist will usually begin by sketching the image onto a canvas. The pigmented oil is then applied in layers. Careful application is needed for each layer to prevent cracking or peeling. Various tools can be used to transfer the oils to the painting surface. Although paint brushes are used traditionally, other methods include palette knives or even rags. Since oil paint remains wet longer than many other types of artists' materials, it allows the artist to makes changes to his work much more easily. Since oil paint dries by oxidation, it usually takes about two weeks to dry to the touch, however, it is not completely dry enough to apply varnish for another six months to a year.

To see a selection of fine art oil paintings at greatly reduced prices, please visit us at www.FineArtAtDiscountPrices.com. We also have a wide array of other types of artworks including lithographs, serigraphs, heliogravures, watercolors and more – all at discount prices.

WATERCOLOR IN FINE ART
For the seventh blog on fine art media I will discuss a very well-known, but now rarely used, technique known as watercolor. This method became popular in the United States around the middle of the 19th century.

Watercolor painting is probably one of the most difficult media to use. The paints that are used are water soluble and most commonly applied to some form of paper. While oil or acrylic paints remain on the paper or canvas as they are applied, watercolor will change the absorbency and shape of the paper when it is wet, as well as its appearance as it dries. The difficulty in watercolor painting is almost entirely in learning how to manage the behavior of water. Watercolor paints are not very forgiving, so previous efforts cannot simply be painted over, nor can the paints be simply be scraped off like oil from a canvas. The common procedure is to draw a faint outline of the subject in pencil and then to use very small brushes to paint small areas at a time, allowing adjacent areas to have completely dried.

The difficulty in using watercolor as a fine art medium has caused it to be almost completely abandoned. One artist who is a master of using mixed media, including watercolor, is Brett-Livingstone Strong. His works are truly incredible in using this technique, particularly in <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/BLS-LFS-04">Les Fleurs Suite</a>. Unfortunately, the pictures depicted on the screen do not do justice to the actual artworks. Strong manages to make use of watercolor to create images that are beyond realism. He creates images of dew drops and petals that almost allow you to smell the fragrance of the flowers. This Suite consists of four images, all of which are Artist Proofs. They are each double signed by Strong. The bottom of each floral has the image number, the name of the artwork and his signature written in his own handwriting. These florals are an absolute treasure to be enjoyed for a lifetime and beyond.

With the winter weather warming and turning to spring our thoughts are turned to nature and the wonder and beauty that surrounds us. It is that beauty that inspires many of the creative ideas you have. It is thrilling to reproduce a small portion of the scenic grandeur you enjoy on card making crafts and art projects. You don't have to be a great artist to do this either. Clear hobby rubber stamps that feature <a href="http://www.clearlyrubberstamping.com/nature-stamps">nature designs</a> are ideal to create your own artisic projects. Trees stamped upon a multicolored background can be not only a simple scene, but one full of wonder and majesty. <a href="http://www.clearlyrubberstamping.com/inks-and-ink-pads">Rubber stamping ink</a> can in and of itself, provide fascinating backgrounds, colors and shapes.
This blog will describe the seriolithograph. It is the fourth that I have written on the different types of media commonly used in modern fine art. As one might expect, the seriolithograph is a hybrid process which combines two fine art media --- the serigraph and the lithograph, previously discussed in earlier blogs.

A seriolithograph is a high-quality reproduction of a piece of art, often an oil painting, run in limited editions. It creates a richly detailed work of art that effectively captures the colors and textures of the original artwork. The seriolithograph is quickly emerging as the ideal technique for superior reproductions of paintings. Using high-quality paper, the process begins with the lithograph, which provides the detailed drawing. Then serigraph screens are created to build color and depth as well as to create the texture specific to the original painting. The process is then completed by applying a high-gloss varnish, adding more depth to the piece.

Two examples of exquisite seriolithographs are <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/JT-Cam-001">Camisole</a> and <a href="http://www.fineartatdiscountprices.com/product/JT-Int-001">Interlude both by Janet Treby</a>. If you have any questions regarding these pieces or any art topic, please feel free to contact us. All our information can be found on the site.
