Do you enjoy craft fairs? Do you like not always being able to spend much time in one booth, because of the crowd, or there is so much to see? I know those two things is what keeps me from going to craft fairs. What if there was someplace that you could examine at your leisure and find embroidered items to look at leisurely. Now I know that it isn’t quite the same, if you have a question, you will have to depend on email. But there is a site that you can find lots of different embroidered items, and not one person will be bumping into you.
Check out http://www.householdgoodsdepot.com for a look at embroidered items, even in the middle of the night, if you are so guided. No time restrains on this craft fair.

If you needed to sell your home in this tough economy, what would you have to do to make it appealing to a new home buyer? Every seller asks himself this question.
Some suggestions to consider might be (1) to do any needed repairs, (2) a fresh coat of paint makes the greatest impact for the least cost, (3) look at the space with a fresh eye to try to determine what might interest a potential buyer. For example, does the home have a foyer? If not, create one with a coat rack, a bouquet and a landscape painting.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit my neighbor. She had had twins while I was gone, and I had brought gifts for the twins.
Her living room was neatly arranged, but the walls were bare! If she had had some landscape paintings here and there, her room would have looked so much more welcoming and interesting.
Please visit http://murphyartstudio.com for colorful, whimsical paintings with which to decorate your walls.

Children often wonder “What If.” What if the sky were pink, or yellow, or purple? What if the house is green, or blue or red? Children need the inspiration to create their own art in the manner in which they themselves like.
To stimulate children’s creativity, we at Murphy Art Studio have landscape paintings and trees with red trunks (and sometimes orange, yellow or blue) and skies of pink and yellow.

It is so easy to convey different feelings and sentiments with the use of flowers in rubber stamping art. For example roses are most commonly thought of as a flower of love. Chrysanthemums, a versatile flower, are ideal for communicating friendship, sincerity, gratitude, and caring. They are a flower of loyalty. A hand made card or valentines day wish is a wonderful way to convey heart felt, sincere feelings of friendship to those you care about.
You do not have to be artistic to create expressive flowers as clear rubber stamps apply the art onto the paper for you giving you the framework within which you can express yourself. Clear hobby rubber stamps ‘Mum Messages’ makes it easy to add a chrysanthemum to your card making and valentines day crafts. There are many creative ways to color in rubber stamping art. You can learn more about it in the article “How to Stamp Full Color Designs”

Wind chimes are beautiful ornaments that can be added to your fully-furnished home. With the inclusion of outdoor chimes, a natural music is produced as the wind naturally hits the metals of the small accessory. The wind is the main ingredient that produces the sound of this device. However, before buying chimes, be wary of a few things.
First, outdoor wind works with the wind. This means that when the wind passes, the individual pieces bump into each other to create music. Therefore, Wind chimes are best used on areas where wind blows from moderate to slightly frequent. Areas where wind barely passes will have no use for wind chimes. Also, chimes
can be helpful when identifying if someone came through the door, as opening it would usually bring in a wisp of air. If this is your purpose, then the chimes should be located near the door that is not frequently raided by wind. If there is always wind blowing in the area, then there would be no distinction whether there is an intruder or whether it was only the wind that triggered the chimes.

Garden wind chimes are an excellent way to provide character and charisma to any outdoor space. In addition to the general ease of installation, they can be purchased at good prices: which enables gardeners to use multiple models. By offering a wide array of materials and styles, manufacturers cater to a large audience of outdoor enthusiasts and green thumbs. Wind Chimes were initially constructed of the most available resources: wood, bone, bamboo and stones. As the craft evolved and served different purposes, other materials were integrated into their fabrication. Metal is currently popular as the size and thickness can create different melodic tones for tranquil sounds.
At Amish handcrafted Wind Chimes
we carry a large selection of Amish handmade metal Wind Chimes. Each Wind Chime comes with a “Lifetime Mfg.Warranty”

Can you imagine a world where we all looked alike, wore the same clothes, drove the same cars and every house was the same as the one next door? Every person is different, (thank heavens) with different tastes and styles. Some people like water, some like nature paintings, isn’t is great that we are different? I think it’s God’s way of keeping us from getting bored. So be yourself, find that something that you like and surround yourself with it. One way to do this is with art. Whether it’s for your home or office, art takes you to a place that reminds us all that we are different.

Like traditional rubber stamps, clear hobby stamps allow you to create beautiful designs even if you don’t consider yourself artistic. However, have you ever purchased a clear stamp that just didn’t perform right? Recently I decided to try some cute Disney clear stamps purchased from another company and available at the local WalMart. I was very disappointed with the quality of the stamp as well as the image produced. The stamps, though clear were hardly tacky, hard to peel off the carrier and did not produce a clean crisp image. Once I was done with the stamp, it was hard to get it to stick back onto the carrier sheet. To get a decent image I tried rubbing a vinyl eraser over the design. It helped a little, but the ink still was not uniform and evenly placed.
At Clearly Rubber Stamping you will always find flexible stamps that are naturally tacky and easy to position. They can even be bent or flexed to take on a slightly different shape. They are soft and pliable and if dirt inhibits the self stick feature, simply wash them in water to restore tackiness. Crisp, clean images will appear on your craft projects and delight you with the ease of being artistic using your quality clear hobby stamps.

At Christmas time, traditionally, we send holiday greeting cards to one another with cheery greetings and warm wishes for a memorable holiday. One of the worst things about finding a good card in the store is that they are usually picked over or mass produced and impersonal. One way to get away from that is to create your own fun cards. They let people know that you care and that you have taken the extra time to make a special and unique card just for them. At Clearly Rubber Stamping we have a variety of Christmas clear stamps and lots of card making ideas for you to use as you make your own holiday cards.
Have a Wonderful day.

We are now ready to finish our information about how our bowls and vases are made. At this point the products are already very shiny when we take our final step before finishing the bowls. The final step is adding a food safe protective coating to help preserve its shine and luster and still be used safely for foods. The entire process takes us several days to accomplish and the art comes from the arranging of the rings to give each bowl its own unique look.
After the last two coats of wipe on poly is put on the bowls and they are dried we then mark the bowls and vases with the artist name and finish the bottoms and if they are lidded the lids with the same finish that is used for the rest of them.
Come and visit us at http://www.earlybirdeart.com you can find many interesting wood bowls and vases that would make a great gift for a friend or yourself.

The art of bonsai is a rewarding, creative hobby that can yield spectacular results. The art expression comes through the wiring, the pruning, the daily care and feeding as well as the preparation and presentation, which all depend upon how far you want to take it. The trimming and training of these trees, has been seen as a stress reliever because it brings a sense of calm and relaxation while you nurture your tiny tree. Bonsai trees are a popular form of art expression because people were amazing by the old look to the trees that appear to have the same proportions as a larger tree, but only in miniature form. Your hard work can also be appreciated as you sit and enjoy the view of the dwarfed tree while sitting inside your home, at your office or on your patio as part of your overall décor. When displaying your bonsai you should remember to keep things simple by allowing your tree to be clutter-free so that viewers can appreciate its natural beauty.

Bonsai is an Artistic expression.
Bonsai is the marriage of both art and horticulture. The bonsai artist never duplicates nature but rather expresses a personal aesthetic through manipulation. If you undertake bonsai as a hobby there are no strict rules to follow, but you gain enjoyment from your unique creation. A bonsai is not a genetically dwarfed plant. Any plant can be a bonsai and in fact, given adequate supply of water, air, light, and nutrients, a properly maintained bonsai should outlive a full size tree of the same species. Your artistic creation can be passed on for generations. The artist’s tools include pruning both branches and roots, wiring the trunk and branches, pinching off new growth, and periodic repotting. The bonsai artist need not take on an expensive commitment; it does require vigilance, patience, and a growing skill. Even if things do not go as planned, don’t give up, a new plan for your artistic creation will come. It is better if you have three or four bonsai at one time so you can experiment with different techniques and styles.
To get started go to our On-line store and choose from the many varieties of trees and choose a book which will give you a leg up in beginning this venture.

We would like for you to take a look at our petite cherry lidded bowl.
Our petite cherry lidded bowl is different in that it has both light and dark wood in it and with the lid you can hide things in it. Due to its small size this bowl can be kept on a shelf with other pieces of art. It is nice for men to keep their billfold, keys, and change in. You can put potpourri in it or other small knick knacks you want to keep out of sight.
This petite lidded bowl is 7 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 inches high. You can use it to keep nuts or candy in. It is a beautiful red brown color and when you put it where there is good lighting it just glows. If you like cherry wood come look at our product of the week. If you purchase this bowl before Nov. 3, 2009 we will provide free shipping.

I think finding out information about things that are new to me is fun. I hope you are enjoying the information we are providing you about our products, and that you find it interesting learning how our wood bowls and wood vases are made. After the bowls are sanded inside and out and the vases are sanded just on the outside we then start putting on the finish.
There are seven coats of clear finish. The first five coats are Tong Oil which is rubbed in by hand. Each coat must dry and then be wet sanded before the next coat is put on. The drying time depends on how many coats they have on them and if the humidity is high or not. Where we live the humidity varies throughout the year, and it can be high for a long period of time. Next time I will continue with how the finish is put on the bowls and vases.
Come and visit us at http://earlybirdeart.com you can find many interesting wood bowls and vases that would make a great gift for a friend or yourself.

There are a lot a lot of outdoor garden decorations to choose from, but did you know that wind chimes are believed to bring good luck? It’s not a matter of cost and it doesn’t matter if you choose unique Wind chimes or whimsical garden chimes. Their gentle sound creates healing feng shui vibrations in the air and while each element of the wind chime is important, it will be the sight and sound that matters most to you.
Decorating your home garden area takes a bit of planning, but it is not difficult nor does it need to be expensive. Besides statuary and flowering plants you will want to add sound and texture. You can add a lot of color and texture with outdoor furniture cushions, but the feeling of relaxation and peace will come from the gentle sounds of a wind chime or outdoor water fountain.

This week having been gone for a week we would like to continue with our information as to how our wood bowls and wood vases are made. After the glue is set the bowls are sanded inside and out until they are very smooth. This is why it is best to use hard wood if the wood is too soft it will sand through and leave holes before it gets smooth. The vases are sanded just on the outside, because of the neck being so small we are unable to get the sandpaper inside.
We have many different kinds of wood we use but it is all some type of hard wood. The wood that the bowls are made from is found in the US with occasionally exotic woods being used in them and vases are made from exotic woods. Next week I will continue with explaining how they are made
Come and visit us at http://earlybirdeart.com you can find many interesting wood bowls and vases that would make a great gift for a friend or yourself.

This week we would like to continue our information as to how our bowls and vases are made. The rings are then stacked and each ring is glued separately then the bowl or vase is clamped to let the glue dry so it is tight. If the bowl is open it takes just one board a lidded takes two boards and vases four or more to make. On lidded the second board is used for the top rings and the lid, and then the knob is made from the corners or other pieces of board.
It is best to use hard wood to make the bowls and vases. I will explain next week why it is best to use hard wood for making our products. The wood that the bowls are made from is wood found in the US with some exotic wood being used in them and the vases are made from exotic woods. This week we would like to give you some information as to how our wood bowls and wood vases are made. They are made from rings of wood cut by a lathe. It starts with a flat board of wood, for our products made from one wood, and mixed wood products have to be glued into the boards first. The board is about 1 inch thick and square from about 8 inches to 12 inches that determines the size of the bowl or vase. The board is then put through a planer and then the corners are cut off. It is now ready to be put on the lathe and have the rings cut. The rings are cut at an angle so they can be stacked on top of each other.
We have many different kinds of wood we use but it is all some type of hard wood. The wood that the bowls are made from is found in the US with occasionally exotic woods being used in them and vases are made from exotic woods. Next week I will continue with explaining how they are made

Rubber stamping with clear acrylic hobby stamps is addictive. Finding new rubber stamping ideas feeds the desire to create. A new idea for using decorative rubber stamps enhances paper scrapbooking flowers with rubber stamps. One example of an ideal set of stamps for this technique is called Big Blooms which features several different flower shapes and sizes.
Simply choose a darker color of ink to stamp in that complements the paper flower and stamp your smaller flower upon it. To complete the flower embellishment attach it the the desired scrapbook page or card making craft. Try it out. You’ll love it.

I love clear rubber stamps! I love to be able to see right through the stamp, and the acrylic block to where I am stamping. It makes stamping in layers super easy and lots of fun. Because I love clear stamps, I am always watching for fun designs and cute sayings that I can add to my hobby stamp collection. In doing so I have found that not all clear rubber stamps are of a high quality. Purchasing clear rubber stamps that require you to cut the design apart or trim the edges is not a sign of quality. Some stamps stick to their carrier sheet so completely that you feel it will never relinquish its grip. Hobby stampers don’t need stamps that just cause frustration so here are a couple of tips to help you. Buy stamps that cling but don’t bond to the carrier sheet. Choose companies you know or that are known for their quality. One company that sells only quality clear stamps is Clearly Rubber Stamping. Their stamps are fun to use and very versatile with lots of cute designs and ideas for all ages. These stamps are easy to use and reuse. You can check them out at http://www.clearlyrubberstamping.com/

Maple wood comes in many varieties, and the different type of Maple trees can be found in many places in the world. This particular bowl is made from a special type of Maple wood called Ambrosia, or Wormy Maple. This kind of wood happens when worms tunnel into a live tree. Start with uncovering 1-2-3 and then moving to 5 then 6. Go back down the scale. Do this starting slowly and then increase the speed, always keeping the appropriate holes fully closed. Practice this untill you can go up and down the scale smoothly, slow and fast with no sour notes or squeeking. Next session we will get into putting feeling into the flute, drawing out the sweet sounds of the soul and of the insturment. You can go to my site and find fingering charts that will give you the fingerings for 12 notes. Feel free to copy these or you can link to the site and down load from there.

If you have Walnut colored interior in your house, or your furnishings our complemented by a Walnut wood, then you should look at our bowl of the week.
The bowl featured this week is made from a spalted Walnut wood. Spalted wood is from a tree that has died and started to weather before it is cut up. All woods left alone will start to weather, but each wood spalts differently. Walnut does this by getting lighter and if you look closely you can see some gray and light green in it. The beautiful spalted graining sets off the bowl and will make it a conversation piece at any party. Our bowl of the week, like all our bowls, is food safe so you can use it to serve a salad, fruit or other foods in.
Come check out all our bowls and vases at http://earlybirdeart.com were sure you’ll find something you like.

Are you looking for a unique item made of wood? We have open bowls that are of different sizes from petite to extra large that are made of wood. You can use them for fruit bowls or to serve salad or potato chips. In the smaller ones you can put nuts or candy.
The lidded bowls are sized button box to large. The smallest one is the button box. You can hide things like buttons, potpourri, cookies, and remotes there are lots of things you can put in them.
We use hardwood because in its natural state it is very appealing to look at. Also it is not hard to work with. If you are interested in wood come to our site http://earlybirdeart.com, you’re sure to find a bowl you like.

Learning to play the Native American Flute. In the last session you uncovered finger holes 1 thru 3 one at a time. Going up and down the scale, smoothly. Now we shall compose a few bars of a song that you will make up. What you will do is open NO. 1 hold for a few monments, close No. 1 (still playing the note). Now open 1&2 together. Hold that note. Breathe. Still blowing the note created by 1&2 open, CLOSE No. 2, hold that note, now CLOSE NO.1. What I want you to do is practice this, then make combinations of 1,1&2, 1,2 &3 open holding each note a different length of time. Experiment with the notes unitll you hear a pleasing sound from the combinations you have created. If you have questions go to my website and you will find phone numbers to call. I will be glad to answer your questions. Enjoy the journey. Thanks for coming to Easy Place to shop and Hand crafted flutes and More. Visit my web site a look at my flutes. HIGH VALLEY FLUTES. In our last lesson we mastered the Fundamental Note with all the holes covered. What we do next is to uncover one finger hole at a time. Do this slowly, don’t get into a hurry. Start with No.1 hole closest to the end. By the way the finger holes are numbered from 1 thru 6 starting from the south end of the flute. Blow softly the fundamental note, uncover No.1, hold that note, uncover No.2, then uncover No. 3. Now breathe!!! With the first three holes uncovered reverse the process. Close No. 3, No. 2, No.1 in that order. Do this slowly, don’t get into a hurry. Now practice this “scale” with the first three finger holes. Be able to go up and down the “scale” smoothly, with no squeaks or sour notes. Be sure to keep 4,5,6 holes covered tightly or you will get a squeak. That’s it. Master this technique and you are taking a big step along the journey. Thanks for visiting Easy Place to Shop and Hand Crafted Flutes. Go to my web site and see the flutes I have. A custom flute can be made and shipped within two weeks. There is no risk because I quarantee your complete satisfaction, no questions asked. http://www.handcraftedflutesandmore.com

Learning to play the NAF. I will post a series of blogs on this site explaining the steps needed to learn to play the NAF.
First and the most important thing to do is to be able to cover all of the finger holes so that no air escapes when blowing a note. The surest way to tell….you will most likely produce a squeek or sour note.
When placing your fingers on the holes, make sure the fleshy part of your finger covers the hole and that your hand position is comfortable. Right hand up or Right hand down it doesn’t make any difference, just so long as it is comfortable.
Now blow softly into the mouth piece with all the finger holes coverd. The note you should hear should be what the instument is tuned to. This is called the fundamental note. Keep blowing this note, take a long breath and blow, softly and then blow harder. Control your breathing. Close your eyes and make this note. Do this over and over again. With your eys closed and make this note, what comes to mind? Get used to the sound. This is the first step, practice, practice and look for the next lesson in this blog. Thanks for coming to Easy Place to shop and Hand Crafted Flutes and More. http://www.handcraftedflutesandmore.com

Not many people know what a Native American Flute is. For those who do know, probably have one and are enjoying playing it and hearing the warm healing sounds that come from this “hollow cedar stick”. For those folks who don’t know what it really is, I’ll try to explain.
First, It’s a sacred instrument going back in legend into the far past of indigenous peoples of North and South America. It has been known as the Love flute but more importantly it has been known as the healing flute. For it heals the one playing. It heals the mind and the soul by simply playing this “simple” instrument. The warm fleeting sound that comes from the heart and from the soul of those playing, is what is coming from the end of the flute. You find yourself almost meditating and mesmerized by the notes that lift the spirit and nourish the soul. Come to my web site and see the instruments, talk to me. I will start you on a journey, a journey of learning and of enjoyment of a powerful experience with the Native American Flute. Thanks for coming to Easy Place to Shop and look for more blogs in the future on how easy it is to play the NAF (Native American Flute).

Does your boy love to sketch?
It is a common characteristic of boys to love to draw, but not be good at communicating with words. Would you be interested in a program that teaches your child to write and draw at the same time?
Draw Write Now! is a series of books that helps the beginning writer do just that! Your child can learn to sketch animals, develop hand-eye co-odination and fine motor skills and learn to write stories about them also.
Each book deals with a different set of themes, mostly Science or Social Studies related. So start with one that suits your child’s interests, and if it works for him, add another one later on.
This award winning series is sure to be a hit with your reluctant writer!

There is no better way to bond with your child than to build something together.
Earlier this year I searched the stores looking for a basic building kit. I couln’t find one anywhere.
To start from scratch and build a toy from the framework to the paint and decals makes a great project. If you do it as a father/son project, the memories that go with that bonding time by far outway the actual project.
Check out this Wood Worx Space Shuttle Kit. It comes complete with everything you need.
I won’t promise it will take you to the moon, but it could provide satisfaction and something to display proudly in your child’s room.

Give Your Child a Place to Publish His Works of Art
Children love to create. They especially love to have others see and comment on their creations. There is nothing that makes a child prouder than to see his work of art on display. Be sure to praise him and let him show his work to others. Some ideas on how to publish your child’s work:
1. Post it on the refrigerator. You get to see it every time you open the fridge door or work around the kitchen.
2. Put it in a frame and mount it on the wall like other works of art.
3. Hang a gallery of his pictures in his room or a hallway.
4. Have it made into a postcard and send it to friends and family.
5. Buy a clear coaster set where you add the pictures. You would just need to copy and size the pictures. This would be a great Christmas gift.
6. Get the image printed on a mug.
7. Get an image printed on a T-Shirt.
8. Create a calender with a different work of art on each month. These can be seasonal drawings or just a random collection. One of the best Christmas gifts we ever got was a calender from a family member who is too far away for us to see often. The calender had photographs of her two children and husband at different seasons and events of the year. What a great way to catch up on events we missed! A calender like that with Art work over time would be just as special. It also would be an inexpensive and memorable gift that makes you and your child think of the recipient often.
9. Enter an art or coloring contest where the submissions are displayed.
10. Write a book. Get him to illustrate it. He could help write it. He could write it himeslf. If it has a story line, he could read it over and over and show his creation to family and friends. Using a photo album with plastic sleeves where you add your work makes the book look polished and professional.

Good Morning from LaGrange, IN. Large Wind Chimes with Church Like sound sound delightful to the ears because the wind is the composer of the harmonics or disharmonies that are produced when they are moved. The wind chimes that sound the best are the ones that are based on music, chords and the science of matching musical tones.
You can also buy Large Windchimes that are tuned to different tonal scales. One harmonic scale that is quite common is what is called the pentatonic scale, which is a scale of major notes that was first used in chimes in ancient Greece. You can also fine this type of scale in soprano, tenor, alto and bass versions. Usually the larger the tube is the deeper the sound of the chime will be if it is hit by something.
Yet another interesting tonal scale for Wind Chimes is the Mongolian scale, which consists all of lower tenor notes and bass notes. Although they have very little to do with Christianity they very much like church bells when they strike each other. The important thing to remember about Wind Chimes is that they must be placed somewhere where they will receive a bit of a breeze or they will not make any beautiful music at all.
We carry a very nice selection of large Wind Chimes handcrafted by a Local Amish Craftsman.
